NWR: failed car inspection

so my car is going on 10 years old next October and lately Ive had a number of issues.
This morning I took it for inspection and the guy told me that hes not going to bother doing it because there are 2 leaks in the exhaust.  I knew of the one which my FI rigged up a fix for the time being.
I can't afford a new car, let alone paying to have this one fixed. I hate even calling car shops because theyre all a bunch of liars.  (thats been my experience)
One of FI's friends has a car shop so please, please everyone say a prayer that maybe
he can fix it or knows someone who can.

    SUPER lame. We have to pay $650 to clear a fix it ticket... cars are awesome, but sometimes I wonder if I should just get a bike. ha!

    My 15 year old Olds bit the dust unexpectedly this summer. It failed inspection big time - exhaust leak, all brakes needing to be replaced, rusted out frame on the passenger side, brokwn spring...$3000+body work would have been what it would have cost to repair. Not worth it. I couldn't afford a new car either, but I had no choice, so now I'm making car payments. 

    I feel your pain, but I'll still keep all my crossables crossed for you.
