How long have you been engaged? - A year and a half

Describe your wedding in 3 words - romantic, 'fairy' (not in a wierd way...), elegant

Describe what is NOT your wedding in 3 words - 'quirky', 'vintage', 'rustic'

Chocolate or Vanilla? - Vanilla all the way! (Unless it's ice cream, then I pick "sweet cream" every time.  I'm too vanilla for vanilla)

What was your first car? - My dad got me a Ford Explorer when I turned 15 and a half.  I hadn't asked for a car, and was totally terrified to drive at all.  He sold it again a few months later, I never drove it.  I finally got my license at 21!

What's been your biggest wedding check so far? - Tough call, I have all my vendors booked, my dress picked, and my bridesmaid dresses picked.  I couldn't pick one that was the 'biggest'

What do you do for a career? - No 'career' yet, I'm a grad student.

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? - The venue, I'm obsessed with it. 

Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it? - Haven't read it, school reading doesn't leave a lot of time for fun reading.

Favorite movie? - Big Fish

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? - Opposites Attract, without a doubt.  FI is very laid back, and I'm pretty type A.  It works really well for us though, I keep him motivated, and he keeps me from going critical. 

What are your goals in life? - Finish my MA, and be a mom.

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married? - I have horrible baby fever, but FI and I don't want children for another six or seven years.

Do you do Pinterest? (I'll follow you!) - Like a crazy person

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? - lose 30 pounds, and finish my MA classes.

What's been your biggest wedding check so far? Nothing really   I've met with all of my prospective venues, but a lot of them wouldn't book until 1 yr out, so now we're waiting for paperwork to be processed.

What do you do for a career? I wouldn't call it a career at this point, but I work in the banking industry.  Ask me again in 5 years

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for?  I'm DIY my dress. 

Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it?  Not yet, but all of the girls at work are raving about it.

Favorite movie? Ever After

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype?  Opposites attract.  We have similar interests, but our personalities are way different.

What are your goals in life?  Have baby, Small Business Owner, Retire Early

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married?  Yes and no.  Our TTC isn't until spring 2015.  We're "planning" on coordinating when FDD/FDS will be entering kindergarten for our move out of state.

Do you have any personal goals before the big day?  I'd love to get into better shape and be back to my low weight since we started seeing eachother.

What do you do for a career? - I'm a policy analyst, meaning public policies like healthcare, not like company policies. 

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? - All the DIY stuff! I love arts and crafts so I'm having a lot of fun making stuff! I'm especially anxious to start the STDs.

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? I think we are opposites attract.  We like a lot of the same things but have fundamental differences in our personalities.

What are your goals in life? - To be successful in my career and to be happy

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married? - Not sure what "TTC" means but I have the complete opposite of baby fever.  The thought of having a baby now terrifies me, especially that many people my age are having kids now.  We want kids but not for a few years.

Do you do Pinterest? (I'll follow you!) - yes but I barely use it.  My account was getting spammed for a long time so I stopped going on it.

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? - I want to pay off my credit debt so we can start our marriage together on a clean slate (and I can more aggressively pay off my student loans).

What was your least favorite subject in high school and why? - History was my least favorite, I just always found it boring but now I find it very interesting.

Explain your biggest pet peeve (generally in life or about FI): I hate when people at the office blast their calls on speaker, especially when the call is between 2 people sitting across the room from one another.  Ok, might not be my BIGGEST pet peeve but it's been happening a lot and getting on my nerves lately.

What was your first car? - land rover freelander. It was small for an suv so great for parking

What's been your biggest wedding check so far? - setting the date

What do you do for a career? - Still looking. It's been a tough market

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? - The officiant

Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it? - It's on my will never read list. I have a serious ethical issue with what the author did and will never give her any money. And I've heard from multiple people that the prose was awful.

Favorite movie? - Serenity. I love Joss Whedon

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? I'd go more with "Birds of a feather flock together". We're really similar except for I'm introverted and he's extroverted

What's been your biggest wedding check so far? - venue and dress!

What do you do for a career? - No career. I work weekend nights at a hospital as a nurse tech and I tutor biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology at my school. My main "job" is a full time student. Studying biology (pre-dentistry), I got accepted to dental school, so that's exciting!

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? - the photobooth

Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it? - Hated 50 Shades of Grey, tolerated 50 Shades Darker, enjoyed 50 Shades Freed

Favorite movie? - I am forever obsessed with the Harry Potter series. I really, really loved Hunger Games too (great trilogy to read, also).

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? Birds of a feather, I think. Naturally we have our differences, but we are similar on the big things.

What are your goals in life? - Be a dentist - perhaps an oral surgeon. Provide for my family and be a good mother and wife

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married? - No, no, no, no, no! FI and I know we want kids, but not anytime soon. Perhaps in 5-7 years. I kinda have a strong dislike for kids at the moment

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? - Run a 5k (signed up for color run in Des Moines!) and lose ~ 20 pounds

What was your least favorite subject in high school and why? - Math - it just never clicked with me.

Explain your biggest pet peeve (generally in life or about FI): He's a little messy for my liking, and I am by no means a clean freak. I tolerate organized chaos - but not outright sloppiness. I get home from my shift this morning to find a dinner plate with partially eaten stuffed shells... in our bedroom!

What does your wedding dress look like, or if you haven't gotten it yet, what style are you envisioning?: It's Maggie Sottero "Cindy". It's an asymetrical bodice that ends in a dropped waist with a ruffled train. There is a photo on the facebook group. (I'm more comfortable posting personal photos on a locked group, rather than a international forum)

What is your favorite event to watch in the Olympics? It changes. Swimming was very exciting this year, with Phelps and Missy. But all the equestrian events are exciting to watch for me - I used to show horses before I went to college - it makes me miss jumping

What's been your biggest wedding check so far? They all seem big to me. It's a tie between booking our reception venue and buying my dress. 

What do you do for a career? I'm currently unemployed, but am a certified teacher and hope to have my own classroom by the time fall rolls around. 

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? The paper wishing lanterns I bought for us to set off once it gets dark.  

Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it? Yep. Finished all three books in about two weeks. I didn't LOVE them, but I certainly didn't hate them. 

Favorite movie? Ten Things I Hate About You 

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? It depends on what aspect of our personalities you're talking about. I'm more high strung while he's more laid back, but we're both pretty big homebodies and like doing a lot of the same things. 

What are your goals in life? Get my own classroom, start and finish my master's degree, have 3 children, and live a long and happy life with my FH. 

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married? My baby fever hit overdrive about 3 months ago. I can't see one without turning into a pile of mushy wistfulness. I want to loose about 50 pounds before I try and get pregnant, but I am working on that already and we'll start trying as soon as I am down to a more healthy weight. Gestational Diabetes runs in the family, and the less I weigh when I get pregnant the more apt I'll be to avoid it.

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? Loose as much weight (healthily) as possible. I have thyroid issues and polycysitic ovaries which make my weight very hard to control, and with the stress of moving across the country over the last three months, it's gotten out of hand.  But, I'm taking control back and making myself a priority again. My sweet FH acts as if he has no idea what I'm talking about when I say anything to him, but the scale doesn't lie and I feel guilty that I'm not the person he fell in love with 4 years ago. 

If money/time/education were no factor, what would you do with your life? I've always wanted to own a children's book store, like Kathleen Kelly in You've Got Mail. But I know that with online retailers, like Amazon, in the picture, I would most likely not make it.

How long have you been engaged? We've been engaged for almost 2 1/2 years! We got engaged on valentine's day 2010. That was the point where I started looking for jobs in his hometown I had recently graduated and got ready to move here. Last September I FINALLY got a job here and we started planning our wedding! Describe your wedding in 3 words Classic with a twist! okay, that's more than 3... Describe what is NOT your wedding in 3 words Fluffy, princess, overdone Chocolate or Vanilla? Depends on what you're talking about... Definitely vanilla ice cream! What was your first car? My parents' old minivan when I was in high school. Then my sister and I shared an old stickshift ford escort named Mabel in college. What's been your biggest wedding check so far? We've got all the biggest checks done so far... Venue, church, photographer, DJ, and my dress! What do you do for a career? I work in HR right now. What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? Definitely a tie between my venue its gorgeous and the lady who runs it is amazing! and my dress it comes in October! Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it? What's been your biggest wedding check so far? The venue.  It was our most difficult decision and I'm so glad it's behind us.

What aspect, that you've planned so far, are you most excited for? My dress.  I actually was a bride on Randy to the Rescue so I had a pro helping me pick it out and I'm so excited to see my FI's face when he sees me.

Have you read 50 Shades? Hate it or love it? No, I haven't read it.  I typically only read on the bus and it doesn't seem like it would be the best material in that environment.

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? We are kind of in between, but more on the "birds of a feather" side.  We have the same ideas on how to raise our family, use our money and spend our time, so we're good.

What are your goals in life? Raise my son and stepchildren to be good people.

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married? Well, I had our son 2.5 years ago, so this doesn't really apply to us.  Although I would love to have another, my FI has 3 kids from a previous marriage, so he says he's done.  Our son is an absolute gift, so I'm content.

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? I would like to lose about 5 more lbs, but more importantly, want to make sure I don't gain.  I'm also trying hard to save as much money as I can.

What was your least favorite subject in high school and why? Art.  I'm very analytical and not creative at all.

Explain your biggest pet peeve (generally in life or about FI): I can't stand it when people use the word irregardless.  It's not a word!

What does your wedding dress look like, or if you haven't gotten it yet, what style are you envisioning?: It's Jim Hjelm 8663.  All lace.

What is your favorite event to watch in the Olympics? Gymnastics

If money/time/education were no factor, what would you do with your life? I would quit my job and just volunteer at my son's preschool/school as well as other organizations around town.

What is your favorite memory with FI? Having our son and watching him play with him.  It's priceless to see the man you love be a great father.

We are TOTAL opposites when it comes to the big stuff like career (I'm a 9-5er and he's happy waking up at 5am to play in dirt and stopping whenever he feels like it!) But out personalities are very much the same. We both love staying in rather than going out, he loves to cook and I love to bake so we'll never be hungry, and we both love being in nature.

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married?  YES. I can't wait to start a family. But we're going to wait until we are settled in our new home and have enough financial stability... something neither of our parents did!

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? I am currently at my heaviest, so I'm definitely trying to lose a lot of weight. I have lost 26 lbs so far, but I want to lose another 40! Find me on MyFitnessPal (missquela) if you're in a similar boat!

What was your least favorite subject in high school and why? History. Which is funny, because FI is a history buff. I think it had a lot to do with not liking my teacher, and taking AP classes in subjects that were uninteresting to me.

Explain your biggest pet peeve (generally in life or about FI): I agree with the PP, rudeness is a big one for me. That, and leading people on.

What does your wedding dress look like, or if you haven't gotten it yet, what style are you envisioning?: Looking for one next month. I think my style is going to be the A-line, princess neckline style...I also might want a short version for the reception! My mom wants me in a ball gown. I'm definitely open to anything!

What is your favorite event to watch in the Olympics? I love the synchronized diving!! I also a huge fan of Gymnastics.

If money/time/education were no factor, what would you do with your life? Live on an island and go swimming and drink fruity alcoholic drinks all day.

What is your dream car? Shiny red 1967 Mustang convertible. Yeaaaah buddy!

Do you and FI fit the "opposites attract" or "Birds of a feather flock together" stereotype? We were similar when we first got together, but we have both changed so much and even eachother out.

What are your goals in life? I want to be able to create the floor plan of my own house and have someone correct and build it for my family.

At ~11 months out, do you have baby fever? Will you TTC soon after being married?  I think he does more than I do, but I really can't wait! I want to be stable first though!

Do you have any personal goals before the big day? I want to tone up and lose maybe around 10 lbs. 

What was your least favorite subject in high school and why? I hate science, except for earth sciences. It's funny because my FI is a physist. 

Explain your biggest pet peeve (generally in life or about FI): People that seem to not think.

What does your wedding dress look like, or if you haven't gotten it yet, what style are you envisioning?: I have bought 2 used so far and sold them. I am starting over and will hopefully be getting a aline, natural waist, tulle and lace beauty by alfred angelo. (8506)

What is your favorite event to watch in the Olympics? I don't.

If money/time/education were no factor, what would you do with your life? I would be getting married sooner, and then go to Italy for a long honeymoon and then build a house in Colorado!

What is your dream car? EL CAMINO! 

What's one thing you are willing to splurge on for your wedding? Photography is most important to me, being a photographer and all I am going CRAZY. I already have my photographer and I DEFINITELY could have went cheaper, but I stayed within what I wanted.

Favorite free date idea? I love bike riding, so maybe a picnic somewhere we haven't been before on our bikes. 

What aspect of your wedding are you the least excited about? Probably the time crunch. I'm worried it is going to be tough to do everything.
