Ladies!! How are you all? How is planning going? I have not been here in so long because work has been so busy and I wasn't doing much wedding planning anyway... but today I have big news! We finally have a date - Friday, July 19th, 2013. Any date twins?! We booked our ceremony site this morning (on top of the cliffs overlooking the ocean here in San Diego) and will be booking our reception site tomorrow morning (a banquet room with vaulted ceilings, a built-in bar, and floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the water/marina)... and the total cost for both is only $1,450 which is so cheap by San Diego standards!!! I am so excited! Now the real planning can begin!

Congrats! We aren't date twins, but I am also having a Friday wedding. HUGE money saver. Called our DJ today and it's going to save us more than $100 with him.

We're on a tight budget and wanted someplace with amazing views... and we definitely got it. :) Where/when is your wedding? Glad to see a fellow San Diego bride here!

I looked at Marina Village too, very pretty. Congrats! I'm getting married at the Salt Creek Golf Club in San Miguel Ranch East Chula Vista on 7/13/13. The reception will be in a tent so I have a lot of work ahead of me! Good luck with all your planning! :

How exciting!! So glad you found somewhere that cheap in Southern California. I know how tough that is. (We're still waiting to confirm our 7/20/13 wedding in San Juan Capistrano - I can't wait to share your happiness at officially having a date!)

birdie, it is such a relief to finally, officially set a date! I had been waiting for over half a freakin' year to get that out of the way! Hehe. It was a challenge finding the right place within our small-ish budget, but I knew it was out there and did not give up.

I have heard that San Juan Capistrano is really, really nice! What sort of venue are you looking at?
