Engagement Pictures

How early is too early for engagement pics? I have been thinking about putting together our wedding website and it would be nice to have some professional pictures of my FH and I to use on it. Also, we are in the process of moving (away from where our wedding will be and our photog) and it might be nice to have that out of the way so we don't have to worry about making a trip back for pics. With our wedding still 490 some days away, would it be too eager of me to schedule them for this spring??

We're using our engagement pic session as a bit of an audition for our photographer of choice. We won't be able to until until June or Aug when we head down there, though.

I don't think it's too early. I personally think you can do them at any point while you are engaged. It's totally up to you! If it would be more convenient now because of your move then that's fine too.

We just scheduled ours for May. It'll be at a local amusement park and since my work schedule didnt really work with our photographers schedule thats the first weekend that mixed. The way I thought about it was July is right around the corner and I definitely wanted to have them before the 1 yr countdown Plus with all our other expenses it'll be nice to have it out if the way.

We are planning on having ours done in July which is the next time that we will be visiting the area where we will be getting married. I really would like to have them done earlier as we have very few pictures of us together at all, but I guess July will have to do.

We are getting ours done some time over the summer. That is when our photographer suggested to us. We are going to see what the farm looks like where we are getting married before we set a date I wanted to get them done as soon as we got engaged lol, but I was able to hold off lol Get them down whenever you are ready!

We already got ours done, so I don't think it's too early (but we also knew 100% who our photographer would be, for the engagement photos and the wedding).

Gabrielle, I knew before we were even engaged! lol She did my FH cousin's wedding and all of her work is absolutely phenomenal. Part of the reason I am so anxious to have them done is so we can get in front of her camera and experience the magic. I think I'll call her soon and see what she's got open. She books up FAST so we may have to wait il Fall anyway.

Then 100% call her! Engagement photos are so much fun.  Plus, nothing boosts your self esteem more than seeing really good pictures of yourself!

My fi and I just got the first half of ours done last month. The reason we did so was because we won some free save-the-dates, but had to order them by this month. So we called our photographer (we knew right away who we wanted, so already had her booked in January), and she agreed. We are doing two parts because we were doing some at our college campus, and some on the beach. We are waiting until the weather warms up before we attempt the beach ones! I say if you know your photographer, then go for it! It's really fun!

I'm actually getting mine done this week! We are getting married in a popular area during a holiday weekend and need to send out our save the dates ASAP with accommodation information. I looked at save the dates without pictures and I decided I would really like a professional picture on them! Its totally not too early for them...even if this wasn't the scenario for me, I'd want them done around now for other reasons! It's completely up to what you and your FI want!! :
