So, we had vacation last week and got plenty done.
We decided against the lodge and are going to use the VRBO for the reception since we were going to rent it anyways for the WP to stay in. We also decided we are going to do a AHR, but we haven't worked out a specific location yet. FH says he doesn't want a candy bar because candy and beer don't mix (LOL). We drove by the VRBO and its easy enough to get to. We're going to have a local BBQ place cater, their brisket is AMAZING and they sell brisket & pulled pork by the pound, and you can get their sides by the qt. We're going to borrow one of FMIL"s canoes to put beverages in (stolen from Pinterest). We're opting to splurge on real dinnerware vs. disposables.
On the way back we stopped at a Wal*Mart and I picked up 3 more boxes of my clearance pocketfolds and 2 boxes of simple TY cards. The TY cards were $.10 ea. Now I have 200 of both, haha. Like I said before, I can always return or re-sell any spares we decide we don't need.
We did our e-pics on Wednesday and I got my hair & make-up done by a local spa/salon. I'll definitely go back, she was super reasonable ($30 for both, which is awesome considering how crazy thick my hair is). She is full service: massages & facials, make-up, hair, nails. etc.
When we met with the photographer we discussed further options. She offered the time we wanted for $650 and then we can purchase rights a la carte. Even if I get rights for 20+ photos I'll still come in better than I thought I would. We can get low-res digital copies and she'll give us spiral bound viewing book That price also includes our e-session. Instead of albums I may just have to spring on digital photo frames for everybody, haha.
Sunday we met up with one of my BFFs for a few hours. She had previously told me that after another friends wedding she never wanted to be a BM again. I had told FI on the way that if she didn't want to be a BM for me I would try and hire her as my DOC because she's fabulous, detail oriented, and I trust her. Amusingly, she told me when we were together that she was considering becoming a wedding planner.
We got our proofs on Saturday! Enjoy some of my faves.
