best way to paint on glass?

Im using a solid glass frame, probably a storm door or something to use as my seating chart. I plan on having a few leds underneath to brighten it up..my question is whats the best medium to use on glass?? I dont really like the look of chalk and would prefer a nice font of sorts. Maybe i can 'copy' or trace something from behind but what do I use to get a clean, white, handwritten effect???

have you thought about etching? it's fairly easy to do, and they have kits that have everything you need for about $20. it also looks really elegant and fancy here's one from walmart: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Deluxe-Glass-Etching-Kit/12347706 but i think they also have them at Michael's or Joanne's.

Oooh! Pretty!! That looks really neat! I may have to do something thats easily removable because it's way cheaper to borrow my parents storm door than to buy one. Those suckers aren't cheap.

based on that article, sounds like resin based paints might be the best way to go!

What about those markers they use at restaurants to write on the specials board? They always look very vivid and solid. 

Edit: I have to clarify that I don't mean expo markers. . . the ones that look more like paint.

You could also check out garage sales, thrift stores, and Habitat for Humanity ReStores for inexpensive doors/windows so you don't have to borrow your parents door.

Theres no local Habitat around here but I will be stopping by the salvation army tomorrow. Thanks for the idea!! Oh and craigslist has a few posted I just noticed...yahtzee!! :0)

I know they sell special paint for glass. And I second whoever suggested the paint-like markers they often use on glass surfaces at restaurants - they always gives a nice, solid, clean look.

I was browsing through Michaels and saw this, which made me think of your conundrum!  Hope this helps!  it's called a "chalk marker"
