Myregistry.com?

Has anyone used this?  If so what are your thoughts on it?

Everyone is telling us to register now, before the STD's go out.  We were planning on waiting until closer to the shower date, so we know that most of the items wont be discontinued when the time comes.

Re: Myregistry.com?

  • Myregistry.com seems really sketchy to me.  360registry is more legit in my mind (but I would still never use it, I prefer store registries as a guest and as a bride).  I have three registries...Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Belk, and Williams-Sonoma.  There is an account on myregistry.com for me that I DID NOT CREATE.  It makes me a little uncomfortable that it already has my information/wedding date.

On a side note, I would go ahead and register before your STDs go out.  I did and I'm glad, someone just bought something off the registry.  Plus, it's really super easy to moniter a registry online for discontinuations.  Registering took me a full month (2 pre-shopping trips to price shop/pick patters, another trip for BBB and Belk, and I made WS online).

  • I am registered at Macy's, but also have a registry with amazon.com. Amazon.com has a universal registry feature where you can add items from any other store or website to your list. It has been very easy to work with so far. Might be worth checking out? :)

Thank you, I didn't know Amazon, had a registry feature.

We're going to register at Target, today to take advantage of the $20 gift card offer.  While we're there we'll probably head over to BBB.

As far as anywhere else, I'm not sure where else to register.  FI, hates WS and PB.  I might just do small things at those places that I love and have him stay home for those.  I guess I should get cracking.
  • I'm loving my amazon registry!  Like right now when I'm searching for fun stuff for the "same-ness" item, I'm just clicking and adding :)

I think I've become an amazon addict though.  It's my "go to" for buying things now.  I even signed up for Prime and get free 2day  shipping.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

We are using MyRegistry.com and I havent encountered anything "sketchy" as a PP poster said. In fact, I really like it. Some family members bought items from our registry for us for Christmas and a few of them commented on how easy it was. You download a button onto your toolbar that says "Add To My Registry", and when you go to the website of whatever you want, you click that button. You can adjust the amount of items that you want and can add a little note if you'd like.

I prefer it because a few times, especially when we're cooking, FI or I will say "Oh man, I wish we had such and such!" and all we do is go online, find one we like, and click "Add To My Registry". It's really convenient, especially for low key or busy brides in my opinion.

I can see pros and cons to both the in-store registry and the online registries. Let me know if you have any other questions or what to take a gander at our registry.

ETA: Also, I like the fact that we were able to add a "honeymoon" fund to our registry. We dont need really anything for the house, so instead of registering for vases or china we will never use, guests can give to our honeymoon fund if theyd prefer.

  • ekk- the thing I find sketchy about myregistry.com is that it already has my information and registries and an account for me when I didn't set it up myself.

<div>OMG same here! Whenever I want to buy something, I'll always check Amazon first and then a few other places. 99% of the time Amazon has it the cheapest.</div>
