So my dad and I aren't really that close. Not because of any particular reason but just because he was in the Navy. I moved with my mom and brother to the other side of the country while he finished his duty at the base he was at and tried to sell our house. Long story short, he ended up being stationed two states away and visitng every other weekend changed to once a month to once every couple of months to holidays. (Because of time and money, not because he was a dead beat dad) Anyways.... yeah, we've kind of lost touch and I haven't spent too much time with my dad in the past few years.
So he's paying for most of our wedding and that's amazing. We're doing couples' gifts for the parents (a photo album with a gift card to a photo printing site), but FI and I agreed we wanted to do something really special for him since he's been so great. But since we aren't too close I couldn't think of what to get him. We thought maybe a knife engraved but that just doesn't fit.
So I run across a Groupon for a super awesome watch. I thought he would like it but wasn't sure. So I called his (new!) wife today and she said she thinks he would like it.
SO... I'm freaking excited to finally buy something to give to someone else! Especially my dad! I'm seriously so excited about this watch!
ETA: Oh, sorry it's technically Living Social and not Groupon. =P
