XP Need opinions for HM location

So were at the beginning stages of booking the HM. We really liked Belize, but there's nothing even close to our price range. She looked at a few other places and we're starting with areas and will start to narrow down hotel/AI/etc. Sooo...

ETA: Oh! I meant to add that all I'm looking for is sun and beach (maybe a little shopping trip at a local market) and FI wants adventure, adventure, adventure!

I wish I could help, but I've never been to any and probably never will.  FI has no interest in those sorts of places

Have you looked at Costa Rica? It's supposed to be an awesome mixture of adventure and beachy relaxation.

I went to Costa Rica when I was in high school and it was amazing! It has a wonderful mix of adventure and beachy relaxation. Just not sure of the price, honestly. But, its something worth looking into!

My sister stayed at a great hostel in Costa Rica and did some pretty crazy adventurous things.  She zip lined, did a jungle top walk, slept on a beach, and was stalked by a perverted little monkey while changing at the beach lol.

She also says Puerto Rico, is awesome.  She was sleeping on the beach when the tsunami hit a few years back. 

I can ask her if she has any other suggestions.  All she did during college was travel everywhere for cheap money.

I stayed in Puunta Cana once. The resorts tended to have more Europeans than North Americans. This was really interesting, actually. I enjoyed myself and had a lot of fun.

I think we're leaning more towards somewhere in Mexico. Somewhere less crowded than Cancun though. TA suggested Riviera Maya...

It looks like the knot ate my post again....I stayed in Puunta Cana once. The resorts tended to have more Europeans than North Americans. This was really interesting, actually. I enjoyed myself and had a lot of fun.

We're going to PuntaCana and we had the same requirements you do -- I wanted to lay in the sun and FI wants adventure! A travel agent suggested PC because it has both. We looked into it and there are a lot of water sports and hiking trails through ancient ruins nearby, so we will probably do some of that while we're there. The travel agent told us that PuntaCana is made up of mostly AI's, and the flights to there are a lilttle bit cheaper than to lots of other places.

Ive been to Jamaica .. its beautiful! Definitely lots to do there -- depending on where you go, you can climb Dunns River Falls (Ive done it twice.. its awesome!) and do watersports and things like that. 

I have never been to Belize, but I only hear good things!  Good luck deciding... who knew that booking the honeymoon would be one of the most stressful parts of the wedding?!

we are doing costa rica.... i want sun, FI wants adventure. perfect mix of both. we are actually gonna stay at 2 different resorts, one all inclusive on the beach and one eco friendly in the rainforest type.

I have been to jamaica, bahamas (a few different islands), P unta cana, cancun...

bahamas and jamaica are by far my favs... cancun was fun for partying... but I was like 20 when I went with 3 girlfriends....
P unta cana was my least favorite.... the food was terrible.  there wasnt much to do for excersions... im a scuba diver and the diving sucked...
just my 2 cents

I've been to Cancun and it has what you say you want.  Beach, sun, sand, and a town to shop in.

Mayan Riveria, a town called Playa Del Carmen. Good shopping and tons of things to do. ATV tours, ziplining, snorkeling. Take the ferry from Playa over to Cozumel. Very fun.
