my skin just cant take it anymore!!!

All you perfect skinned, never had a pimple people, go read something else!

So my fiance and I just moved to Washington state from colorado. As you may know, the humidity in CO is usually like 5% and WA is closer to 80% or something. My skin just doesn't know how to handle it. Throw in the cross country move stress and the over budget wedding happening in less than a month stress and my skin is just flipping me off. I'm getting those under the skin pimples, white heads, and the ones that make your skin peel and take FOREVER to heal! I don't know what, if any, products to use because the wedding will be back in colorado so when we get there a couple days early my skin will have to readjust to the climate again.

If any of you ladies have any advice it would be much appreciated!

  • My best advice is to go get a facial.  Tell the esthetician what is going on, she will likely have some advice and ask for samples, DO NOT go paying $100's of dollars for stuff she can and WILL likely give you for free!
  • I'm in PA and it's really humid in the summer here. I've found Aveeno Creamy Complexion to work really well on my oily skin. I know everyone is different though. Good luck!

<div>Since you're so far out, I would recommend a facial too, but don't go too close to the wedding. I'd give yourself AT LEAST a week. I get facials fairly regular and the latest I'm doing mine is a week and a half before the wedding. Facials use concentrated ingredients so its a blast of power for whatever is going on. Then she can recommend what to do with you skin afterwards (since she'll be dealing with it very closely). Also try taking time to relax since stress can amplify skin problems. Take a hot bath, exercise, do yoga, whatever would help you just chill for a little while. Good luck with everything!</div>
  • Definitely a facial!  My back broke out a week ago, and I panicked and went on Yelp to find a good facial.  The woman did absolute wonders - find someone who specializes in acne, maybe even connected with a dermatologist.  If you have a dermatologist, ask them for recommendations.

Also good products - I now use Dr. Perricone's face wash & toner every day.  Use warm (not hot) water with your hand - face cloths can hold bacteria and create irritatino and cause you to break out more.  I also use Origin's Brightening exfoliating pads about 3x per week - it's like salicylic acid without all the over-drying that I get from that (which causes peeling).  I also use Origin's Anti-Aging Serum as a moisturizer - it's great with acne, for real.  With those items once per day before bed and a light rinse in the morning, my skin has gone from "not so great" to "incredible" in less than a month.

  • I feel your pain, I moved from Colorado to Vermont over the winter and my skin freaked the eff out, I could literally wipe grease off my face.  The only thing that worked for me was time and toner.  I used that stuff twice a day and it helped, plus the blotter papers.  I use Neutrogena, just cheap stuff from the drugstore, it worked out.  As others have said, a facial is probably useful too!

  • Buy a Claresonic and use it twice a day with mild facial cleaner. Also try a facial moisturizer for combination skin, I have had luck with Neutrogena and Aveno products. Facial are great also if you go to the right person. I have the battle with the same items you talked about and the Claresonic changed my life, worth every penny!
