Reception site???

Recommend your reception site or any site you have been to and like. We are looking to have a small intimate wedding - less than 75 people. Simple would be great - places that have on site caterers, cakes included etc would be ideal. Any ideas much appreciated!! Thankyou!!!!

We are having our reception at The Chadwick in Wexford on Route 19. They have 3 ballrooms and the one would be perfect for a smaller reception. They are very reasonably priced considering what you get with it. The cake is provided by Lincoln Bakery (HIGHLY recommend) and the alcohol is also included in the price. Oh, and they do ALL the decorating, including center pieces which I find to be beyond amazing. You will not find any hotel who includes half of what they do for the price.

I am getting married at The Pittsburgh Golf Club in Schenely Park.  They have their own event coordinator, so it isn't taking much effort on my part.  They provide linens, food, tables, chairs, plates and silverware, they will set up a cookie table, you can get your cake through them but do not have to.  They have been great to work with, and negotiated to help us stay within our budget.  It also includes valet parking, a coat check person, an attendant in the ladies room.  We are having a larger wedding, but I think this place would be great for a smaller wedding, and they seem to prefer smaller weddings.  The food at the tasting was amazing, and everyone I know who has been to weddings there raves about the food.  The downfall is that you have to find a member to sponsor you, but that isn't hard and they will help you do that.  The website is www.thepittsburghgolfclub.com

A lot of hotels in the area have small ballrooms for weddings and can provide all of the food, alcohol, cake, etc.  What area of the city are you looking at?julie - one of my best friends is the event coordinator at the Pittsburgh Golf Club :o)

My wedding is at the National Aviary. It is a good space for mid to small weddings (up to 120ish). I am pretty familiar with the event spaces at most museums & attractions if you want to go that route. For the most part, they all work with preferred caterers that can handle all the food, rentals, etc. Best part is that you get to bring in your own alcohol, which saves you a lot of money. But, it takes some effort on your part.

My reception will be held at the Duquesne Club, and they have so many different pretty and unique rooms that I think it would work for a wedding of any size.  They do catering and cake/dessert on site and it is delicious!I also love love loved the Frick (Clayton) but it was too small for my wedding.  They too have a variety of different rooms that would work with many different sizes and the grounds and house are so beautiful.  Catering would have to be from your choice of a few vendors, though.

For a small reception like that, I would've gone with a B&B like Century Inn (outside Washington, PA) or what's that one in the North Side? Is it the Inn on Mexican War Streets? The Morning Glory Inn is on the south side, but usually not as highly recommended on the board (just google the name with "reviews" and you'll see).

I will be using the RIvers Club. It's down town in the Oxford center. and they have a minimum of 80. the space is so pretty and you get a LOT for the prices. I also looked at the chadwick (mentioned above) and I would have totally been more than pleased to have my wedding there if the Rivers Club wouldn't have been available. www. riverclubevents .com
