Place cards

Anyone have cute ideas for place cards and table numbers? I've seen hanging them on clothesline, just on a table to pick up...FI and I are trying to think of a good display...thoughts? Thanks girls!

Re: Place cards

  •  Try looking through the "Real Weddings" section of TK to find some inspiration -- I get a lot of ideas from those! If you google it, there are some good ideas too.

We are doing a clothesline for ours, similar to this:

Our tags look just like that. We got them at Michaels and are hanging them with purple ribbon. My FI also found a flower punch so we're adding a little flower detail at the bottom (my FI is totally into wedding planning haha which is great because he's way more creative than me!)

We are naming our tables after berries. We live on a street named after a berry, and we're getting married in the backyard. We're doing homemade boysenberry jam for the favors, so berries seemed to be a good fit.
    Here are our table frames:

Frames were $1 at Michaels. We painted them brown. Then we printed the names of the tables and glued them to purple paper. We hot glued flowers on the top. We're planning on giving pictures of us from the wedding in the frames to our moms/aunts/etc after the wedding so that we dont let all these frames go to waste.

You can find lots of good ideas on TK like I said before. Hopefully some girls on these boards can give you some inspiration too!

  • We're making beach towels out of scrapbook paper with drink umbrellas attached to them and then putting them in a tray of sand.

  • My FI & I will be making origami flowers. I saw this as a DIY project on Wedding Bee and fell in love with it. We have plenty of time and thought it would be fun to make the escort cards ourselves.
We are doing a couple different colors of purple flowers with green leaves. Paper was bought on sale/clearance from Michaels. I think our total cost to make $160 of these is less than 20 bucks. Just many hours of time in front of the tv. Laughing

  • Our table numbers look like feathers:

I am simple incorporating their names on the favour card (mini bottles of maple syrup).

I do like the idea of luminaries; so when the candles are glowing they reflect the names.
    What is your theme/style?

  • we don't really have a theme - but I guess our style would be traditional - preppy - clean - if that helps. I was going to just do the cards on a table but we were thinking about doing something more fun. the tables will be named - in frames - so I know that already - and we are having awesome centerpieces. some high and some low. for the cards i was thinking about doing pears - and sticking a pick into the pear with the name on peach paper. i dont have any pics- just something in my head - but our colors are peach and green and i like pears so thats all i got so far. we would then have to come up with like a gimmicky slogan near the pears with like a pic of us or something...
  • Like this?

I love the pear idea too - if I were planning a second wedding I'd do something totally different and more "fun". I'd love big fruit filled centerpieces! haha

  • yes like that! those look great! I will also have to look at some others suggestions though.
haha - i don't want too much fruit around but was thinking of incorporating pears into the cocktail arrangements for the tables...we'll see :)
