House?

I think we're going to look at another house tonight. It's a 2 story with a finished basement. The listing says it has 1 1/2 baths and I'm thinking the full one is obviously upstairs with the bedrooms and the 1/2 is in the basement. No bathroom on the main floor. This used to really bother me, but we've seen a few houses like this so I guess I'm kind of warming up to it. Would not having a bathroom on the main living floor annoy you?

It wouldn't bother me. At my parents' house I have the opposite, my room and my brother's room are upstairs but the bathroom is on the main floor. Everyone is always like "I can't believe you don't have a bathroom up here" but it doesn't bother me one bit.

We don't have one on the main floor. I don't love it - but it doesn't really bother me.  We just shut the bedroom doors upstairs when we have guests so the only open door is the bathroom. We have a full bath downstairs in our unfinished basement.  Usually the boys go down there - it's not dirty, but it is an unfinished basement, so it's not pretty.  And the girls use the upstairs one. :p

I'd RATHER have one on the main floor as well, but this doesn't bother me terribly. Lots of houses are that way.

I think I could deal with it.  When I lived at my parents house we spent the majority of our time, and entertaining guests, in the finished basement (ranch house) and there was not a bathroom on that level. It would probably be a pain if the full bath was in the basement and the bedrooms were all the way on the 2nd floor though.

We have a full on the bedroom (top) level and a half on the basement level, but none on the main floor.  We're used to it now.  Doesn't bother me at all.

It's nice, but it isn't a must have for me.  We spend so much time in our finished basement and I so wish there was a bathroom down there!

I would say that it would only be an issue if you have a lot of guests who have trouble walking.  Like elderly or handicapped.  But if you only plan on having these people over like once or twice a year- then I'd say its not a big deal at all
