DIY Mercury Glass

I posted this on the DIY board with no responses, hoping since this board is more active someone may have run into this???

I saw a ton of DIY tutorials on mercury glass, each one uses clear vases and you "paint" the inside. Anyone have any experience with doing DIY Mercury Glass to colored bud vases? i.e. paint on the ouside? Do you get the same look? OR should I just spray paint them white instead?

I would try one first to see. I would imagine it would be the same look, but the color can change and it might not be what you want.

I agree, try one, and then if it doesn't work out you didn't waste the time and money on multiple.

I'll tell you what I did, something kinda similar. I took empty wine bottles, decorated them with hot glue then spray painted them white so the hot glue design would pop out. Spray painting the outside wouldn't be bad, just wait 10-15 minutes before you apply the next coat.
