Florist hired!

And even her top end estimate is about $300 less than I'd figured. Coooool. And even better, she's very nice and we're on the same page about what I want to do. I'm giving her pretty loose rein to be creative within the palette & general "feel" of things. I'm looking forward to not micromanaging much of anything, and can't wait to see the flowers on our wedding day!

  • What a great check!! This is one of two last things DD and I have left to do.... and boy will I be glad when it gets settled. I thought it would be the easiest but because my Mum wants her to have all "real" flowers it has turned into one of the most difficult!: Tongue Out
  • that's awesome! great check (times 2 with the savings!)

  • Awesome check!  And to be under budget is even better!  Also, I think you have a great mentality about the flowers.  I always read about how disappointed people are about their flowers because it wasn't as they envisioned (and their vision would have cost 5x as much) or because it wasn't the color they wanted (a florist has no control over the color of the crop) and they have these narrow ideas that a florist must magically create.  You will be much happier with the result since you are flexible!
  • @ volleygurl- I feel the same way! Flowers are living things, you can't really predict 100% what they're going to look like, in terms of what sizes might be available from the wholesalers on a given day, or if the colors will be 100% exact. And I picked a florist who seemed to have good, creative ideas, so I trust her. She seemed happy to hear that- it was kinda funny, while she was printing a contract, she kind of chuckled and said she'd just gotten an email from a bride that was insisting on an exact shade for some flowers and she just had to shake her head.
