The Great The Hair Debate -help!

I've been emailing my wedding day hair stylist back and forth the past couple days trying to figure a style that would work for me. The style I was leaning towards isn't really feasible and I'm finding it really challenging to find something that works with my hair (and I really don't want to go the extension route).I sent her a pic of my dress and some wedding details, and said that she envisions a sort of retro/vintage look for me. She said something classy and elegant with curls. I had sent her the pic below, and she said the pic on the bottom right is what she has in mind. She said the bird cage would look really nice with that style.

I do like it and my hair curls really well (it's a pain to keep it straight!); it's just not really what I had thought would be my wedding day style.I'm not against it and I can admit that I know nothing about hair lol, so I'll trust the stylist.I did find another "vintage" style that could work...

I also suggested something like this, but only the front part of my hair pulled back like that and my shorter layers at the back will just hang or be flipped. It seemed more "me".

or even this..

What are your thoughts? Do you think the vintage/trendy look suits me and/or our wedding style? Does anyone have any hair styling experience and who can help me out?

  • I like the blonde "vintage" style one. My fave for sure!
You are making me rethink a haircut! I was positive I have to wear my hair up because I get hot and "melt" (sweat like a mofo). But these short styles are SUPER cute!

  • In the four square the top right one is cute. What is your wedding style?

  • How short is your hair?  Mine's just a little longer than chin length, can pull it back in a ponytail or up in a clip but only barely, with some long-ish bangs that can just tuck behind my ears.

    I'm going for this look:

Sort of like what you were saying - swept back, curly, with allowance for shorter hair at the back.

    Anniversary

  • I like the second blonde one that you posted (with curls). I also really like the second to last brunette (and it seems like it would be really "you") but I have a hard time picturing it with your short hair hanging down or flipped like you mentioned.

  • I have an angled bob... so the front currently hangs about an inch past my ears but the back is short.
    Kinda like this...

I can bring the longer pieces back but the back is well, very short. (mine is a bit longer that in this pic...)
I still have 3 months of growth too...

    Ugh this is so challenging...

This is exactly what I thought!  I also like the pic under where you said "it seems more 'me'"
  • Ditto pp on top right pic of the four square group of pics.  That's my favorite of all of them!
