Do not persuade me to leave you or go back and not follow you. For wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you live, I will live; your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May Yahweh punish me,[a] and do so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.

1 John 4:16-19 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.  We love because he first loved us.

Dinner is a buffet of roast leg of lamb and herbes de provence roasted chicken with herb roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus.

Aw, thanks!  I love everything about our menu - we definitely put the vast majority of our budget into that!!!  I think TK estimates you should spend 30% of your budget on reception venue, tables/chairs, food & drink?  Uh... ours is closer to 60%!  Whoops!  But no one will go hungry at our wedding... or it's their own fault!

I planned from Miami, and it was overall really easy.  We recently moved back up to RI, so the last few months are a lot easier from here.

    1. Venue

Barn near our house. We'll be having the ceremony outside (hopsefully!) and ceremony inside the barn. The pictures suck btw:

    2. Reception Site

Same as above. No pictures of the inside though =(

    3. Invitations

HUGE labor of love. FI designed everything. (See siggy for pictures)

    4. Centerpieces

Our centerpieces will be vases with fresh fescue (the bright, soft kind) grown in them with candles everywhere.

    5. Food

Food will be buffet style, but there will be servers so it's not like "grab your own". There will be fresh garden salad with romaine and spinach mix, roast beef au jus, lemon pepper chicken, twice baked mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, steamed zuchini, steamed french green beans, dinner rolls and mini croissants, sweet, tea, unsweet tea (diabetics), sparkling lemonade, and water. Phew! We are SO excited! Also will be putting out a veggie platter for cocktail hour since it won't be very long and we go straight to dinner.

    6. Cake

My most favorite part! Three tiers. Here's the inspiration picture, but the middle tier will be taller nad the top more short so it's a little "off". Bottom tier will be almond cake with citrus filling, middle will be chocolate with buttercream filling, top will be chocolate with raspberry filling. Also the caterer will be serving the cake. And by serving I mean, guests won't have to make a line to pick it up. They will cut and then pass them around tables for guests to choose.

    7. Dress

Dress is a Galina. I'll be removing that bow on it and replacing it with the pink flowers below.

    8. BM Dress

I let the girls choose dresses they liked in a cobalt blue color (or close to it) and short. I think they'll all look great and I have trust in their sense of style. And, frankly, at this point I don't care too much. lol

    9. Groom/GM clothes

Still working on this. FI is planning on wearing a gray vest with an ivory shirt, tie (probably plaid) with blue in it, and gray pants. Np pictures for him yet. =(

GM will more than likely be in gray pants, ivory shirts, and suspenders.

    10. Shoes

    11. Rings- all of them

    12. Rehearsal Dinner food

We're going to a hibachi place where we had our first date =)

    13. Readings Yes/No? (If yes what are they)

Yes. We're doing an excerpt from The Union by Robert Fulghum:

You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks — all those sentences that began with “When we’re married” and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will” — those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” — and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.

The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things we’ve promised and hoped and dreamed — well, I meant it all, every word.”

Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another  — acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this is my husband, this is my wife.

    14. Are you using animals?

    Ummm... no. lol

    15. Ring Bearer/Flower girl what are they carrying?

    No RB or FG.

    16. Parent Gifts

We're doing photo albums with a photo printing gift cards for each set (mom and H, FILs, dad and wife) For my dad (since he's generously paid for most everything) we got him a really nice watch. I hope he likes it!

    17. Honeymoon location

We're leaving the Monday after the wedding for Mexico for a week. =) We'll be staying at Ocean Coral and Turquesa which is an AI.

    18. Hair inspiration

I'm planning on half up with a few curls. REALLY love this one:

    19. Favorite 4th of July Recipe

Not too much. It's always standard stuff like BBQ, smores, watermelon, etc

    20. Favorite Holiday food

I always love homemade mac and cheese at every holiday. Seriously. It's not a holiday unless there's mac and cheese somewhere. lol
  • 1. Venue
Hagerty Center, which shares a building with the local college's maritime academy and culinary school.  Interesting combo, eh?

    2. Reception Site
Same as ceremony, but inside. Love it for all the windows.

    3. Invitations
    in my siggy

    4. Centerpieces
Three pillar candles in glass containers on blue 'doilies.' Candles will be white, instead of the blue candles shown below.  Blue glass votives will be scattered around the cocktail hour and on cake table, guest book table, etc.
    5. Food
It's good, but I'm forgetting the details at the moment :)

    6. Cake
Like this, but with one large white gum paste ranunculus instead of the yellow flowers

    7. Dress

    8. BM Dress
Navy blue, their choice.  Looks like they're all having dresses made by a friend of a friend.  Logistics are turning out to be a little more complicated than I was hoping for, but I'm trying not to let that be my problem.

    9. Groom/GM clothes
GM are wearing black suits, seemed like the easiest way to get them to match color-wise without requiring rentals, though now I'm wondering how it will look with the navy dresses.  Oh well!

FI will be wearing a suit he has yet to purchase.  I think a charcoal gray would be nice.

We're purchasing coordinating ties for FI and the GM.  I'm thinking of finding something all in the same pattern with a lighter blue for the GM and a navy for FI.

    10. Shoes
This has totally been my hardest decision.  Blue is all I know thus far, preferably 2" heel or lower.

    11. Rings- all of them
e-ring was FI's mom's. Yet to purchase w rings.  Mine will be a plain white gold band, his will be plain, but metal is as of yet undetermined.

    12. Rehearsal Dinner food
    Haven't figured this one out.

    13. Readings Yes/No? (If yes what are they)
Maybe? I have a few ideas jotted down somewhere.

    14. Are you using animals?
No, but you get a pic anyway.  Here's puma under the table this morning while I was waiting for the carpet cleaners.

    15. Ring Bearer/Flower girl what are they carrying?
    None.

    16. Parent Gifts
    Not yet determined.

    17. Honeymoon location
Canary Islands (6 days) and Lisbon, Portugal (4 days).

    18. Hair inspiration
High bun with a litlte bit of 'poof' in the front.

    19. Favorite 4th of July Recipe
ummm, margaritas.  And any old recipe will do :).

    20. Favorite Holiday food
FI's mom's baklava - she makes it for EVERY holiday and special occasion.  So darn good.
