September 2012 Weddings

Gigantic Check

The honeymoon is officially booked as of today! Whahoooooooooooo! I feel so, so, so relieved to finally have that done and crossed off my list. We are flying out of JFK to Prague on Sunday the 16th, staying in Prague for 4 days, taking a train to Munich and staying there for 4 days (oktoberfest!), taking a train to Vienna and staying there for 4 days, and then flying out of Vienna back to JFK. I've never been to Europe before so I am so stoked to go- maybe more excited for this than the wedding lol!

Where you you guys going??? Did you book yet?

Re: Gigantic Check

  • Sounds amazing! My FI would love to do that vacation for Oktoberfest someday. Very jealous! And what a great relief, like you said. We have booked our honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada. We're leaving Monday, the 17th and doing 3 days at Banff National Park and 4 days at Jasper National Park.

    Congrats!

We're going to Belgium and the Netherlands a month after the wedding. We're flying out of JFK too. It's a hike but we saved around $800 and it's a direct flight so it was worth it!

Did you use a TA or book it yourself? If you haven't booked hotels yet I highly recommend booking.com. We reserved all of our hotels through there but they all have free cancellations so we can change things if needed!

I love taking the train through Europe, it's so pretty! I was in Vienna a few years ago. The royal crypts are fascinating if you're into that kind of thing. The tombs are wild.

We have our hotel booked, but no flights or rental car at this point.  I found super awesome flights the other day though, so I am considering trying to use our airline miles to get them today.

We are going to the Cayman Islands from the 23rd-30th

</div><div>Yay fun! My friend (getting married in August) is doing Belgium/Netherlands and her plans sound freaking awesome. Yeah, it's such a pain to get up to JFK (we're in philly), but yeah we are literally saving like 800 dollars too. And there were like no flights from PHL- they all had at least 2 stop overs. We also ended up using a travel agent because of the flying to and out of different cities and the 3 different hotels and the transfers and trains and such. I would have driven myself crazy trying to figure all that out- it was really nice just to have someone take my plans and make one big package. Yes, very excited for the train rides!

  • Congrats, that's a great check!!! We are going to Cabo to the Melia Cabo Real!
  • Yay! That's so exciting! When we booked our HM I told FI... we're going no matter what now! lmao

We're going to an AI in Riviera Maya, Mexico for a week. Leaving the Monday after the wedding. SO excited! I think I'm more excited about the HM than the wedding sometimes! haha I've actually had HM dreams!
  • Oktoberfest=best time ever.  I told FI we are going for our 1 year anniversary because I want to take him before we have kids (which will hopefully be a few years).  We are going on a cruise September 30-October 7.  No clue where tho....FI booked everything as a surprise.  He's going to "guide" me in my packing so I'll get an inkling but really won't know until we get on the ship!
  • Munich is AMAZING! I'm so jealous! You HAVE to go to Neuschwanstein Castle. It's in Bavaria about an hour outside of Munich. It will be WELL worth your time! Seriously! We took a day trip with a tour group on a big tour bus... It was AWESOME! It's actually where we got engaged. We were just talking tonight about how badly we want to go back!

I also highly recommend Dachau, not very "honeymoon-ish" but it was really cool! It's concentration camp memorial. Very interesting!

Ugh! I'm so jealous! You are going to have the best time!
