Wedding Colors

Hi ladies:)

So my wedding is September 2nd and I feel like I'm so behind! Right now I'm trying to figure out my colors... I will be wearing a lace dress and my venue is sort of rustic-chic. I love the vintage-y feel with soft colors, but I'm also worried about it being maybe too plain and my girls don't really love my choice. I originally thought of putting the girls in a soft blush pink and the boys in light gray. The girls said that will wash them out too much... then I thought of doing the boys in black and the girls in soft gray with blush pink/white/cream bouquets.
What are your opinions? Is black better or is that too dark? It will also be an outdoor wedding.

Re: Wedding Colors

  • If the grey/blush pink is the colours that you want, then go for it! I'm not usually one that's all about the 'the bridesmaids need to suck it up and go with it' but as far as your wedding colours go, that's totally whatever you and your FI want!
  • Yeah people in other TK forums prolly would rip your head of for having the audacity to think about what you want, but I agree w/ BMcleodTeam, it doesn't matter what they think about the color. I would see how they look in the pink and take it from there. If you have some girls who actually do look washed out, then you have your answer. Until you actually see it, their concerns aren't too important at the moment.
  • I agree with PP.  Wedding colors aren't just about the bridesmaids dresses.  It is about the whole vision you have for your wedding and feel of your day.  I say go with your original decisions.  You can be more flexible in the length and style of the BM dresses.  Maybe pick a designer and let them choose the silhouette in your color.
  • I'm doing pink and grey and my girls love it. Davids Bridal has the PERFECT pale pink that even looks great on my (I love to call her) clear bridesmaid. I love pink and grey together and my FI is warming up to it a little more every day we talk about it. I think if that's what you want then do it. It's your wedding and YOU have to look at the pictures forever not them. If they don't like it, tell them to suck it up lol.
  • There are different shades of pink you could try on your girls. If you want pink, do pink. At least have the girls try a few different ones on to see what you like. I personally think that pink and grey look beautiful together!
