how much are you spending on table numbers? I found some I love on etsy but they are $45 plus shipping (for 12). Just seems like a lot fo table numbers .... what are you ladies spending?
We want to do pictures of our dogs in a frame with a table number in the picture but I've come across the same problem..to order the numbers for each picture is expensive and I'm not a DIY girl at all!
I bought 30 of the Tolsby frames off anothe Knottie and I printed the numbers myself on metallic cardstock so for all 25 (with 5 extra) I probably paid like $30 total.
Our feather table numbers were about $2.50/each but we got free shipping so it came to about $48. We aren't doing place cards and the feather table numbers are part of our centerpiece so their purpose was worth the $$.
I'm doing pictures of my fiance and I as kids to correspond with each table number. I bought a bunch of 3-window frames at Hobby Lobby for about $50. I'm printing the numbers on cardstock paper and gathering pictures from the moms.
I've never been to a wedding with place cards and assigned tables. I don't think we'll be doing it. Sorry I'm not much of a help.
When I worked weddings, I didn't see many either, but the coolest one I ever saw was photos of the B&G in different places they've traveled. When guests walked in the door, their place card was a "ticket" to the destination.
Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
these are the table numbers I like.... and its 45 plus shipping... but that doesnt include the table number holders I plan on buying... they are $46 including shipping. its going to cost me probably over $100 for table numbers... is that insane?
well id have to print on some kind of card stock right? where to buy that? I dont have a printer... do I take them to get printed? or could I buy stencils and just paint the numbers in?? I'd need a paper cutter...
I wouldnt even know where to start. I'm all for trying... but will it really cut costs if I have to buy a stencil for each # and paint and card stock?
Well the stencils you might be able to get at a dollar store. The card stock they have on sale at JoAnn Fabrics for $2.99 for a pick pack when it is on sale. Plus buying the lace and paint adds up. So your right you might not save plus you have to take the time to do it all. I love crafts so I want to try it all.
I would order the cardstock from cardsandpockets.com, they sell bulk metallic cardstock and you can print on it from your printer. You can design them in work or powerpoint. It will probably take a day to dry (mine does) because the metallic, but if you lay each sheet out it will dry in a day. Then you would just cut that, cut the backer paper, wrap lace around it, attach the back paper and add rhinestones. If I hadn't already done mine I would totally be all over these!
I saw packaged/pre-made numbers for $11/pack of 10. Custome table numbers at my stationary store are $4.00/each (so $80 for the 20 I need). That seems like a lot! I am thinking of DIYing them like I am the place card and escort cards.
225 Invited so far! 148 Are ready to party! 77 Will be missing out! 0 Are MIA!
i'm sort of ashamed of how much mine cost, but i had a very specific vision and they were custom made for my by craftyeddy. i have standing wooden table numbers with bases, 1-25 cost me $104 (including shipping).
i'm totally in love with them so i don't really care how much they cost. i'm hoping to sell them afterwards.
Ok ... DD & I must be cheap We DIY'd the table numbers.
Bought pewter picture frames @ the dollar tree, used left over card stock & designed the numbers in powerpoint, then printed them ourselves! Added some "bling" using small purple rhinestones.... total cost breakdown $32 for 25 frames! It was one of my January must get completed tasks.

I can't figure out how to turn the picture the right way, also the "bling" is hard to see. Each one of the leaves has 1, 2, or 3 purple rhinestones on it. The paper is also a pale lavender, not the pink color it looks like.

these are the EASIEST diy ever! Format a microsoft word page so it's set up the size you want and print them at home. If you don't want huge, one piece of cardstock could do 2 tables. And the same for the backing. Less than $1 each.
I came across this idea back when i first started planning and thought it was so cute. You can use them as place cards or table numbers. I'm sure you could even find a template online for free (if you didn't want to be the $3.50) and then you print as many as you want. You could do different shapes too.
I highly recommend trying to DIY. If you want to print them on card stock you could probably fit at least 6 per regular size page so do you have a friend that would let you print just 2 pages?
I'm having a wine theme so our table "numbers" are just going to be wine bottles and our escort cards would read something like:
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith Terrazas Merlot
and the bottle of Terrazas Merlot will be on their table. We are slowly collecting bottles from parties, restaurants, friends, our own use so they are technically free since we are only buying wine when we need it. What's your theme perhaps you can come up with something make shift and out of the ordinary.
