Accountability - Thursday

Hey ladies! So I talked to a few friends that are big into fitness and one suggested I do the Women's Health Mag ab workout, and emailed me the link CLICKY
I was so excited to get home.... got in the house, dug my stability ball out and realized that it must have gotten a hole in it in the process of my last move!!! Boo :(
FI and I are going to pick one up between business meetings tonight so I can get at this, if she says she got results by including it in her regular routine then I'm game to give it a go!

How was yesterday for you ladies?
Question for today (just to make this more interesting) - What is your favourite piece of workout equipment?

I have a serious addiction to medicine balls as of late, I find I lean towards exercises that use them 9 times out of 10 if I have the option lol

Last night I made up a hill/interval training routine on the treadmill.  I posted it in the GIS Thursday Accountability thread.  It was only 30 minutes but it kicked my butt!  It was nice to do something "hill" related since I haven't been able to do that practice run yet.  I also did some abs and ended the night with a yummy tofu stirfry for dinner.

My favorite equipment?  A mat.  Sounds sillly but I love doing abs and the mat is all I need (and sometimes a 7-10lb weight).

ETA:  Brit, I'll have to add some of those ab moves to my routine!  I don't usually use a stability ball so it might be good to do some work with one of those!
  • So with FI in town I think this next week is just going to be a wash.  His exhaustion from the job he just left has caught up with him and he's just in lazy mode.  It's his one week off after working 35 straight days so I don't really blame him.  But when I got home last night I made us dinner and then he asked if we could just lay together.  How can I say no to that?  So I didn't get to work out and forsee it going like that until he leaves next Wednesday.  But this is the longest period of time we'll see each other until the wedding so I'm not going to feel guilty about it.  Going to try to eat well though for the most part while he's here so the damage isn't too bad.
  • I've been doing pretty well with my calorie intake this week! Haven't going over my daily allowance once so far =]

I'm thinking of investing in the JM DVD "No More Trouble Zones" and some 5lb weights. Just to add something new to me routine. I think part of my issue is I'm getting bored with my exercise routine at the gym. But I love the elliptical at the gym.

That's totally me too lol that's why I am just noticing it must have gotten a hole in the move.... I moved a year ago last December lol
  • Okay guys I'm back!!! I kinda got depressed with my lack of weight loss so I gave up for a while. However, with all the warm weather we've been having I decided to try on some summer clothes from last year so see what I had/what I needed. My three pairs of shorts from last year plus 2 skirts did NOT fit. *cue panic*  I'm tiny (5'2) so even a little bit of weight gain is pretty disasterous to me I guess. I'm up 7 pounds from what I was last year as of today (when the shorts fit lol) so it needs to come off ASAP. This honestly doesn't even seen like that much weight so I can't believe it would be the difference between 2 jeans sizes. Whatever, it's gotta go because I can't afford new summer clothes!

    Things I started doing:
-cut down on eating out at restaurants or try to order soup, salad, or fish
    -cut down on the beer!
-no more chips and dip for now (my weakness)
-get back in to my walking routine (I'm not really a gym person but I live in a city and can clear 4 miles even on a work day)

I'm hoping to get off about 2 pounds a month.

  • The Women's Health Big Book of Exercices is really great too. I used that when I wanted to tone before my trip to Costa Rica and I saw great results in just a few weeks. Lots of great tips and options too for all levels; definitely a good resource.
    Results:

I was soooo good last night... I didn't have dessert and just got to work cleaning the storage room. Then I was getting the easter decor out and found some Reeses eater eggs... well at least I don't have to worry about the temptation tonight :P

I misses Reeses easter eggs... I gave up eating unethically sourced chocolate last year. The closest I get is my BM's yummy (and surprisingly low calorie!) chocolate peanut butter bars.
