Gift for Shower Hostess?

When I go home next month, I'll be having a bridal shower.  It's put on by my "other mother" and "sister".  Do I need to, or should I, get them each a gift for hosting?  If so, ideas?  And do I give it before, after, during?

A gift would be nice.  Maybe do it after and send them a frame with a pic you take together at the shower?  At the very least, just be sure to send a thank you note after the fact.  I'm not sure if a gift is required/expected so hopefully someone else is more in the know.

i'm planning on getting a gift for my MOH's mother who is hosting my shower (and probably for my MOH too). i'm not sure what yet. i'd think maybe a bottle of wine but i know they have a TON and they never drink it (they host a lot of parties and people always bring them wine).

i'd like to get her something personal or that she needs, but i'm just not sure what. lucky for me, i have another 5 months to think of something!

I would send an extremely nice thank you note and then a small gift. I like the idea of a nice picture frame. Or maybe a bottle of wine or two?

I'm getting mine probably flowers and wine.  Just wanted to say I'm JEALOUS you get a shower next month!  We haven't even registered yet lol

I am going to do some sort of personal gift for mine, just not sure what I'm getting any of them yet (due to family being so far away, having 3 showers total).

The only reason I'm having a shower so soon is it's because I'll be home for planning.  It's my "hometown" shower.  Then in June when I go back for graduation, I'll do some more planning and have a "college town" shower.  The next time home will be the actual wedding.

I like the idea of flowers, wine, or even a gift certificate to a restaurant they really like. I would send a thank you note to them with the gift when you write your other thank you's for the shower gifts.
