Invitation Wording Question

Hello Ladies,
I have a question.
When you order your invitations and the ceremony and reception is at the same place, are or did you put the address on them? What about if you have direction cards?
The place where I ordered my invtiations is telling me that you are not supposed to put the address if you have direction cards. The address isnt even on the direction cards. I dont feel comfortable not having a physical address. What are your thoughts?

Re: Invitation Wording Question

  • Personally I don't think it's that big of a deal. We didn't include the physical address on our invites, mainly because all our invites were handmade and stamped/written. We did however include the link for our wedding website which contains all the info they will need. And for those who do not use the internet, mainly grandparents and such, we knew it wouldn't really matter anyways since they would be going with people who were aware. Our invites were out a month ago and so far it doesn't appear to be an issue.

  • Our ceremony and reception are in the spot and in the hotel where everyone will stay.  However we included a physical address.

So below our names etc it reads
    "As we exchange wedding vows
on Saturday the twenty-ninth of September
    two thousand and twelve
    at four-thirty in the afternoon
    Hotel Name
    Hotel Address

    Dinner and Dancing to Follow"

    No direction cards for us.
  • I would include a physical address somewhere on the invite, especially if it's hard to google/mapquest.  I've been invited to a wedding before without an address, and we almost ended up in the wrong spot cause we looked up the wrong place.

  • I think the address should be included somewhere.  Most people have gps or use their phones, and it seems like it would be helpful to have all the information (date, time, location) in one place.

For me, we are including a set of four cards with the invitation -- response/directions/accomodations and one with the addresses for the ceremony and reception.
