Hey ladies, I just read the advice from the Sept 2011 brides and they all say over and over to have a must-take list of photos for your photographer (to supply them with it before AND have a spare copy or two the day of). It dawned on me that I forgot to share something I had seen with you all! I actually had the notion of the idea on my own, but then FI was recently in a wedding and the bride is a professional photoag so when she did it I knew it was the way to go!
But on top of a list, if there are specific poses you want done, include the inspiration picture in your list (I'm making my list chronolgoically). Over the weekend I purused google images and pinterest for the shots I wanted. Of course the scenery doesn't always fit but it is the concept or the pose of people. I showed FI them last night and he kept saying "but there's no bridge" "theres no water." I know dummy! I just want you to hold me like that and for there to be a pic! I have my list/collage at home and I'll try to share tonight or tomorrow to show what I mean.
FI said though he appreciated it as a GM as well because there wasn't a lot of standing around going "what do we shoot next" and they had more than enough time to get through pictures during cocktail hour (with some before) with no first look. The bride literally had a stack of printed papers and the photographer took the one on top, posed everyone, shot it and moved on. I haven't seen their pictures but I'm guessing they turned out like she envisioned. It is hard to pose people how you want if you are in the picture and not looking at it!
