So we want our dancefloor packed non-stop. That's the biggest goal of the wedding. And, people have kinda high expectations because FI is a notorious dancer (as is his dad). We are doing our first dance as soon as we walk in the reception so there is no delay in the "open" dance floor. After the first dance will be dinner. Dinner IMO is always where the reception feels slow if you can't get up to dance because people are served at different times so therefore done at different times and this is typically where the bride and groom make their rounds so everyone kinda stays put. We'd rather say hello to people on the dance floor. So, we are thinking the second half of our dinner playlist would be songs you can dance to but that aren't obnoxious to those still eating (i.e. "Shout" would be annoying if I'm still eating or rap music), this way those who are ready to dance can but it isn't overwhelming to others. What artists fit this? We have thought of Earth, Wind, and Fire for sure as fun but not annoying (and appeals to both of our cultures...our parents have little overlap in the music we were raised to).
Any other suggestions? TIA
