Question about tipping

Hi ladies! I apologize if this posted twice, I cant find my original post??

I have my hair and make up trial in a few weeks. On the website it says "Gratuity is not required, but graciously accepted". I am planning to tip for the actual wedding day, but should I tip for the trails as well? The trial isn't included in the day of price so I am paying them close to the same amount for the trial as the actual day of...are you ladies planning to tip for your hair and make up trials? Thanks!

I would tip, you are using their time. The only exception would be if they did a terrible job.

This.  Or if they are the owner of the business.  Then it is also not expected.

I'm going to threadjack this real quick. B/c I have a question about this.

I've always understood proprieters don't get tips. My DJ/DOC are a husband/wife team that own the business. Do I still tip them?

I probably would. It doesn't need to be a huge tip... but, something a little extra if they do a good job would be nice, even if they own the business.
