September 2012 Weddings

Opinions please!

Originally I was going to do lace covered shoes but the more I think about it the more I'm afraid to try it.  So, I found these shoes on Zappos today.  I love the blue but my only question is, do you think that with my colors (Sage Green and Chocolate Brown) the royal blue shoes would look totally off?  I have a floor length dress so they would be covered most of the time.  Here's a picture of the shoes:

They also come in Silver, Bronze, and Gold, do you think one of those colors would be better?

These are the decisions I'm struggling with at this point, I feel so silly that I can't make up my mind about shoes.

Re: Opinions please!

  • I don't the colour necessarily matters if they are not seen; brides have bright pink or red shoes without having those colours in their wedding.
I would prefer having a colour that ties in with the wedding but I think it's fair game. I do think the blue would tie in with the green and brown - it would be a nice pop of colour ;)

  • They are cute and I wouldn't worry about the color. My reception shoes are gold flats and there is no gold in my wedding. My sister is a HUGE blue and brown fan and she would love those shoes. I say go for it!
  • I also think it would be a nice pop of color.  Go for it, they could be your "something blue".  I am having purple shoes, which is one of my colors.  But I do not think it matters,  I keep going back and fourth between blue and purple so I could have my "something blue".
  • I like them! I don't think anyone would side-eye blue shoes because they could also be your "something blue".

  • I would go with silver, but that's mostly just because I'd be able to wear a pair of silver shoes again - that color blue wouldn't go with anything I personally own.

  • I think those would totally go with you colors, but even if they didn't like you said they will be covered most of the time. I think they will be a really nice pop of color when you and your hubby take pictures.

  • I'd like them to tie in, but they can be your something blue.  If not I think the bronze or gold would be beautiful with the colors you've chosen.  Silver can go as well.  What color shoes are the BMs wearing?
  • If you would be more comfortable having them tie in with your colors, then go with another. Personally though, they are awesome and I think you should use them as your "something blue" as PP suggested, and then have you FI wear some bright blue socks and there is a great photo opp :)
  • Personally, I would go with gold or bronze.

I love them and they will be hidden most of the time, so they should not clash....

  • Who makes them?  I just tried to find them to show my mom, and I cant find them.

  • After discussing it with my MOH, who doubles as my fashion consultant because I have no idea about this stuff, I've elected to go with the bronze.  I love the blue but I'd never wear them again and the bronze go with the wedding colors and will look better in pictures, I think.  Thanks for the input ladies, I really appreciate it! :-)

Plus, the bronze pair is on sale, woo!
