tipping the make-up artist and hair people

Hello ladies!
My wedding is September 29th, 2012. I book hair & makeup people for me & my bridesmaids & I am wondering whether or not I should tip them or not. If so, how much do I tip them? Thanks!

Don't you normally tip when you go for a haircut? The answer is yes, you tip.

If the hair stylist or make up artist own the business, you aren't expected to tip them, although it is always apprecaited. If they are just employees you should tip them.

I would say 15% is fair.

I would assume so. I always tip when I get my hair done or any kind of esthetic service.

My friend is doing our makeup, so I'm not "tipping" her but I got her gift cards to the place where she buys her makeup

I also have a question I plan on tipping for the hair and make-up but for the free trial run, do I tip then as well? I was planning on adding extra to my tip on the wedding day. But, now I am thinking that it might be better to do the day of my practice run.
