Accountability - Friday

Well, apparently TK in all its glory erased my Accountability- Thursday post, so I guess this is Thursday and Friday now hahaha

Wed night we took the night off, yesterday we hit the gym and I got a great run in. I have been experimenting to find out what I find easier, running to the TV or running to music, and decided I like the music much better! Good to know :)

Tonight I am hitting the strength training, and back to the treadmill tomorrow!

What are your plans? How did the last couple days go? Anyone reach any new goals?

Alright, so I'll also repost yesterday's picture and todays lol

Re: Accountability - Friday

  • I didn't end up going to the gym last night because I just felt overtired, and FI was running late, and I wanted to actually have time to cook a nice dinner for once.  ALL are lame excuses but oh well, I can't take it back now.

I feel like I am almost to where I want to be.  I "almost" eat right all of the time.  I "almost" follow my workout schedule.  I'm usually pretty good about staying on track but I need that extra 'oomph' to get me to where I need to be.  I don't know why I'm not completely on track yet ...
  • I get that feeling sometimes too, like I'm 'almost' there but not quite, and that last little step seems SO much harder lol
  • I'm trying not to eat ANY gluten the next couple days to keep my tummy as flat as possible for my boudoir shoot on Sunday LOL
I did my spin class at lunch today; love that class and that instructor.
Tomorrow is some body weight training and Sunday I'll do yoga before my photos.

  • Wednesday I did Jillian MIchaels and my 2nd day of the 100 pushup challenge.  Yesterday I did nothing because I had a midterm and when I got home I had to pack and get ready for my trip to see FI this weekend and then I was fried.  Woke up early this morning to do day 3 of the 100 pushup challenge.  This weekend will probably be a bust because we will be in a hotel all weekend so we'll have to eat out.  But, FI works during the day on Saturday and Sunday so I brought our TRX with me to hopefully work out in the hotel room.

i'm totally planning on doing this before my boudoir shoot too. i'm probably not going to eat gluten/wheat/bready things for a couple days beforehand and then i might not drink water for 12 hours before (my shoot is at noon though so it will be mostly sleeping time). is it weird that i want to feel like a VS model when i have my shoot?

  • Kelly: DRINK WATER!!! I have a sensitivity to gluten (ever since I got a parasite while on vacation) so I try not to eat much of it to begin with. I'll just make sure I don't for a couple days. But water is sooooo important! If you're dehydrated, your eyes will show it; not so sexy!
What's funny is that FI sees me maked daily so I'm not sure why it matters so much lol

<div>I had belly issues for awhile and did the whole gluten free diet.  I should go back because those issues are resurfacing.  Interesting enough, people often GAIN weight on that diet because you are replacing gluten with rice and corn.  I'd stay away from all carbs all together :)  Oh, and stay away from too many watery foods if you tend to bloat.</div>

It's not really a weight loss thing; I just don't like the pain and discomfort it causes. For the most part, I just stay away from the types of foods that have gluten and don't do the substitutions.

<div>Ugh I wish I could do that!  I love carbs (I'm Italian) and with running I feel like I NEED them even though I probably really don't.  I hear ya, about the discomfort.  I did it for awhile and it was awesome.  I just stopped because in effort to save for other things I didn't feel like paying upwards of 5 bucks for a loaf of bread anymore.  I'm thinking I should go back and do it.  Constant bloating and discomfort is less than ideal....</div>

It was really bad for 8 months until they figured out that I had a parasite. I'm so much better than I used to be but I'm still sensitive. Lactose was another killer. That I can have in moderation now too. Parasites are not fun.
Protein protein protein! That's the only way I can keep being as active as I am.
My issue is staying away from sweets, and when you don't have enough carbs, the cravings for sweets goes up :P

<div>Lactose and gluten are killers for me, yet I "kill" myself on a near daily basis.  I couldn't imagine getting all of those issues from a parasite!  That is horrible :(</div><div>
</div><div>What do you do for protein?  I've always wanted to incorporate more protein than carbs in my diet to see if that will help with a plateau I'm having.  </div>
  • My meals are usually focused on protein and I try to have protein in most of my snacks. I eat a lot of egg white omelets; they are awesome for energy before a run/spin or for a meal afterwards. I usually make sure my protein portion at meal time is twice as big as the "carb". Greek yogurt is great and so are almonds. I drink Almond Milk instead of milk; not the flavoured kind (so much sugar in those but soooo yummy!). I do have protein shakes from time to time when I can't make something to eat; a yummy banana, strawberry, choc protein powder and almond milk makes such a yummy treat!

  • Mama, I LOVE Greek yogurt.  That and low fat granola is usually my bfast.  I should try mixing in some almonds.  I also love almond milk.  I've been thinking about doing the shake thing again.  We have a tub of protein powder so I should probably use it ;)
  • i have shown a slight (very slight) intolerance to gluten. basically, it just gives me more acne, hence why i want to cut it out before those pictures. i have been trying to cut it out more in general, but it's tough, and since it doesn't really cause me digestive issues, it's hard to really decline when im like "omg bread". but i pay for it later.

as for water, i don't plan on not drinking it for that long, i just mean that in the morning when i wake up, i probably won't drink a ton of anything before my shoot. i need coffee though, so i think that will wake me up enough.

  • Thursday, I only ate a taco salad.  I wasn't feeling well and was on edge all day in anticipation of my interview today.  I burned a little over 500 calories shoveling as well, so that was my only workout.

Today,  I interviewed and went straight to Starbucks, to wake me up.  That was a major fail, but also a treat for doing great.  I split 2 burritos with extra protein and fiber with the girl at work today.  Tonight I'll be cleaning all night and FI and I will be doing 10 min abs and butt and thigh pilates.
