backdrop second thoughts

So this is our backdrop, but the back curtains will be purple and the front will be black. I can't find ANY pictures online of 2 colored backdrops other than black and white. And now I'm worried it's going to end up looking like a circus tent.

We would do white, but there is nothing white in the wedding other than my dress. My centerpieces are ivory hydrenga, the BM's boquets are ivory. The head table will most likely be black on black damask.

Opinions? Pictures to share? Should I change it to my second choice backdrop?

Or should I do the white one above with uplighting similar to this?

Re: backdrop second thoughts

  • I think your first choice will look great, and not like a circus at all!
  • Maybe the third option would be a good idea seeing as you could have the colour but it wouldn't be so dark or possibly look "circus" (even though I don't think it would).

  • I love uplighting, so my vote is for #3.

  • I don't think it would look circus-y at all.  Maybe its been a while since I've been to a circus but I think of circus colors as more of the primary colors and purple isn't one.  I also like the 3rd pic but I think the purple and black would be very elegant.  If you go lighter and use a white, is Ivory an option?  Is your dress Ivory or a true white?  Although those are so sheer that unless you wrap yourself up in them I don't think anyone will be able to notice what's white and ivory!

<div>This. I don't think it would be circus-y, but it may be a little dark depending on the venue. </div>
