Hi there!!!!! I'm brand new to using this site and the these forums. For example like private messaging and stuff... Could anyone help out? :

Howdy. Our lovely moderator would be better at this but I will give it a shot.

The forum you are in right now is JUST brides getting married Sept 2012. Post whatever you want here, we are a pretty easy going and tight-knit group . The general boards that come up when you first come into the community are sorted by topic. The advice they give there may be pretty blunt, so brace yourself. Private messages are for conversations between yourself and one other member, kinda like email I guess.

As Cowgirl said, we are a VERY laid back and easy going board compared to many. There are a TON of different boards on TK geared towards the different aspects of your wedding - From Offbeat to Christian, Outdoor to Luxury... they are all here! There are also boards for Reception Ideas, Ceremony Ideas, Flowers and other broad topics. Often its easier to ask your questions on your main board, which for many of these ladies is right here

To private message someone, there is a spot under any o ftheir posts or replies that says 'Private Message', just click on it and you can reply there. When you are in the board there is a menu to your left showing all your different boards, scroll down far enough and you'll see 'Private Messages' on there as well... clicking that lets you see any you may have received There is unfortunately no notifier on this site for PMs so if you send one its usually best to post here and let the person know. That's usually dont with a simple post that just says 'YGPM' which means You've got a Private Message

There are posts that are 'stickied' at the very top of this board with a lot of information about this board in particular and our traditions/etc... Feel free to request to be added to lists as you wish

If you have any questions, ask! The ladies here are all phenominal at being here for you 100%!

I would love to hear more about your wedding and any planning you've already done

agree with Cowgirl about the bluntness on some of the boards - a lot of cyber bullying going on if you ask me!  

I tend to be on the Vegas boards more than here, though have found this group to be very supportive of each other - i lurk and comment every now and then - the forums in general have been an absolute lifesaver in planning my destination wedding - and even just making you realize you aren't crazy when you read other brides with the same issues or putting your own challenges into perspective.

One thing about the private messages is that you have to check them to see if you have one - you don't get a notification that one has come in.

Gettin hitched on Sept 22, 2012!!! 166 days away and sooooo much to do!! We just got engaged March 18. I have my dress and 2/4 BM dresses ordered. The ceremony location, reception location, videographer, photographer I think, annnnd DJ all on hold. Just waiting for dads okay pretty much. There's soo much to do and I really don't know where to start.

Welcome to the board teamlevine!!! DD is also getting married on 9-22 ... always nice to have another date twin! You will find this to be one of the best boards on TK... as PP said some of the other boards get kind of snarky/nasty. Plus we have the ABSOLUTE BEST moderator of all the entire Knot boards!!!
