FI and I are living with my parents right now (FML).  My parents just went out of town for a week which will be a much needed break for FI and me.  My younger brother is home from college for the summer.  He texted me asking if I minded him having people over tonight while mom and dad are gone.  He and his friends are 21 now so no legal issues.  I texted him back and said "yea no problem as long as people aren't loud by my room after midnight when I go to bed."  Then I thought dang!  I feel old.  I'm definitely not but I used to be the one throwing parties the second mom and dad left town.  Haha oh well guess I lived it up while it was age appropriate.

FI and I are living with my parents right now too, so don't feel bad. I am SO looking forward to getting out on our own.

I know how you feel about feeling old. Last Saturday two of my friends wanted me to come out to the bar with them. I told them I couldn't because I had work at 6am the next day. They were like "so just stay up all night!" If this was 5 years ago, sure, but there's no way in hell I could do that now. If I don't get at least 7 hours of sleep I feel miserable the next day.

I don't know ladies, I'm 26 but I still party hard every weekend. I think I might party MORE now than I did. Gotta live it up in your 20s!

I just say though, FI and I have our own place so it's wayyyyyyy better having the funds to drop $200 on an awesome party than having to party at my parent's place while they were out of town.

Hahah I just had this talk with a friend of mine. She became very angry because she went out for her 33rd birthday and was angry when no one else could go out. She is also mad that no one is really interested in partying it up for her bf's 40th. I'm 26 and quite frankly very over that stuff. I work 12 hour days so going out is never in the schedule. I will gladly have a few drinks with friends or have a bonfire, but the whole "dude LETS PARTY" stuff does not amuse me anymore.

Haha yes old fart I am!  I had 3 beers with the "kids" last night.  That didn't affect me and I had fun playing civil war and drinking games again.  But them being loud until 3am....not so great this morning!  I feel totally satisfied that I got my partying out of my system when I was in college (and single the whole time which I now value so much).  I'm with you Cowgirl, a couple drinks with friends is way better.  My friends and I are so busy we hardly get to see each other as often as we'd like.  So I'd rather sit somewhere and catch up than be at some crazy party and at the end of it still not know how my friends are doing!
