A couple weeks ago my FILs were in Orlando (3 hours away) and we went up there to meet them and go with them to see family friends who live in Tampa. My FILs cruise regularly because they own an RCI timeshare so they get the royal treatment (no pun intended) when they go on Royal Carribbean. The family friends they actually met on a cruise 16 years ago and still keep in touch! They go every year in July every year for their anniversary so their friends were asking about their upcoming July trip.
Well FI planned our whole HM and I knew it was going to be a cruise because it is what we always talked about and FI can get the same perks his parents do on Royal Carribbean because he is also on the deed to the timeshare. But, I didn't know which cruise. Until......
While the friends were asking about the trip, FFIL goes "it is the same one they are going on" not even realizing and FI just looked at him! I felt so bad because he worked so hard to keep the surprise. However, the cruise talk ended right then so I didn't find out any more details!
FI's parents sent us their flight info yesterday (they fly into Fort Lauderdale for their cruises always so we can meet them for lunch at the airport before they head out) and FI made a big deal about how there will be NO cruise talk when we go see them. He seems so disappointed that I know as much as I do. I also am trying to be really good and not look up where we are going now that I know everything haha. But I want to preserve what little is left of his surprise. He did also tell me he didn't get the very tip top room but whatever room quality is considered just below that so I'm super excited to see how nice it is.
