Anyone have or ordering a custom isle runner for church?  There are so many sites.. I'm not sure who to trust!  Does anyone love their runner and have a recommendation?

Just for future reference:  you don't need an isle runner, which is perhaps a small jet-ski type vehicle.

    You need an aisle runner.

I made my own.  I bought the standard fabric aisle runner available at Joann's and Michael's and then I painted on our monogram.  I spent about $35 on the whole thing.  Pics in married bio.

    I used these instructions: http://roadtotheaisle.blogspot.com/2007/07/diy-aisle-runner.html

I think http://www.idooriginals.com/ is a popular place for custom runners too.

I also made my own. I bought it from Davids bridal online for like $35 i think, and then $5 for paints and brushes, and $5 to blow up my monogram at kinkos

After you blew up your monogram at Kinkos how did you apply it?

I just taped it to the ground and layed my aisle runner over it and traced it onto the runner. I've heard you can paint it on the runner from here w/o tracing it. But i liked being able to trace it better plus you can't see the pencil tracing after you paint it in

Here is a link to the instructions I went off of:

word to the wise, if you put wax paper underneath, make sure and tape the wax paper down also as well as the runner because a few times the wax paper moved on me and it started to bleed through the runner in places that didn't have paint! i caught it before it did any damage.

I'm seriously not a DIY person, artistic, or createive person.. this was the only real DIY project I took on because it looked so awesome, it was SO easy and I really enjoyed doing it.

We bought my daughter's aisle runner at www.customizedweddingcreations.com

Cherin was fantastic to work with and the runner was absolutely beautiful!
There's a pic on the runner in the photo section of my profile.
