What do you think of this favor idea?

We come from long lines of cooks.  He is 100% Italian, with parents straight from Italy.  I'm Italian, Portuguese, Irish and English with grandparents straight from those countries.

FI loves to cook as well and is always looking for a new recipe book.

We were going to put a recipe card in our invitation where they write a family recipe and send it with the RSVP cards.

Now, my mother is going to send the cards out with our shower invites, so we can make a family recipe book as favors.  We'll also have an edible favor to go with it along with a mini utensil.

Does this sound ok?

I think that's a really neat idea, but I know that some family recipes are closely guarded secrets so you may not get as many responses as you'd like. I really like this idea though, it's very unique.

I think even if they don't pick the typical 'family recipe' most people will still come up with something good to send in I love this idea

We're thinking about naming the recipes after the families they come from as well. There are a few recipes I know we drool over that some might say keep it secrecy, but that's fine as long as we get them.

Anything that ends in me getting recipes would make me happy, even if people just sent in random recipes. I would absolutely love that favor because I love food!

The only downside is that it might be a lot of work, might get a little expensive, and it would be a bummer to see any booklets left on the tables after the reception after all that hard work went into them.
