The entertainment value of Bridezillas

I have a guilty pleasure of watching Bridezillas.  Partly because it makes me feel more sane.  Also in part because I am waiting for the day that one of these poor guys realizes what he's getting into and calls the thing off (and then probably gets hunted down by one of these crazy women).  Does anyone else watch?

Also, last night they were showing a girl four day before her wedding and everyone in her family had the flu (and she had had it two days before).  Now I don't think that's an excuse to threaten to beat up the man who ordered your tuxes wrong, I thought about how that would suck and I haven't even considered how much having just a cold would suck  (I've thought of larger family illnesses in the sense of, at what point and in what situations do you postpone).  But then in a totally rational non-psychotic thought I was just like "Geez I can't even imagine what four days is going to feel like...how exciting and emotional!"  Do you ever think about how that last week is going to feel?  Being around the 4 month mark makes that seem so close and I hadn't really thought of it before.

Re: The entertainment value of Bridezillas

  • I watched an episode last year where the groom bounced the day before the wedding. In his interview... he said "I really had NO idea she was so f**cking crazy".
  • I watch Bridezillas all the tima. haha..I saw that epsiode. Those girls are crazy.
No matter how stressed I am that close to the wedding, I could NEVER see myself acting like that. haha

  • At that point I'll be probably just ready for it to be here! I'm already thinking 'lets just get to it' lol
  • I watch that show quite a bit but I shut it off for the whiney brides. The nasty ones are funny as hell, and I always tell my BMs "Ya know, I can't just snap my fingers and say 'B*tches, get over here NOW!'" The girls who are princesses and complain and cry about everything drive me nuts.

The worst one was the staten island queen who kept refering to everyone else as "poor" and when she wasn't allowed in a club, she called the bouncer "Minimum wage, low class trash." She demanded her girls help her take off some jacket because it felt like a "poor person" coat. Oh yes, your money just makes you SO wonderful!
  • I love bad reality TV but for some reason I can't get into that show which is odd for me.

I love bridezillas!  FI thinks it's crazy, but I just remind him to be glad I don't behave that way!  There was one episode where the groom left the bride at the alter, but she took him back and they got married a few days later in Vegas!

I have no idea what the week of the wedding will be like.  It will be likely that we will have just moved so the new apartment/house will be a mess.  FI and I have teeth cleaning appointments the Tuesday before the wedding (our dentist does that for free so our teeth will be super white/clean for photos-- how nice of him!!!).  Other than that I will drive to NC Thursday evening, my MOH is taking Friday off (her idea, not mine--she is awesome).  We will do nails and any last minute stuff.  I'm hoping it will just be fun, not stressful!

  • I watch that show sometimes and it makes me feel both less crazy and also sad. I wonder who these people think they are to treat others like that. Then again, completely possible they're putting on a show for the cameras.

I was just responding to an email FI's mom sent me where she was talking about taking off the whole week before the wedding to drive here and do whatever we need her to do. I hadn't thought about the week of the wedding almost at all yet. It makes me feel excited and also a little anxious about all of the things left to do! I think I'll probably be in a daze of disbelief but a happy daze at least. Right now I've definitely been in, "Is it here yet? Is planning over yet??" so I'm just really ready for the summer to fly by!

  • I love that show too! It drives FI crazy though. Luckily, we don't get that channel and I can only watch it at my parents. Oddly, my dad loves it and we watch it together.

He teases me and says I'm like that, but by the end of the show thanks me for not being like that. :P

OMG I saw that one she was certifiably insane.  I blame her parents because even when she was a grown woman they were still giving her a wedding that was costing them 6-figures (or close to it) I think.  I want to see her on the "Bridezilla Where are they now?"  Those make me slightly sad because so many of them end in divorce (divorce makes me soo upset) but at the same kinda like "uhhhh u didn't see that coming?"  My other "favorite" was the girl who got TANKED before her ceremony and couldn't stand up straight.  She got drunk because she wasn't sure if she was doing the right thing and whenver they fought she said "oh well there's always divorce."  Then, at the reception she accused her groom of hitting on someone else.  Really?!

I love Bridezillas! I'm pretty sure I have seen every single episode, lol. I remember the one where the bride got left at the altar and the one with the girl who called everyone poor. I also remember one episode where the bride set the bridesmaid's shoes on fire because they were the wrong color! I can't wait for that last week to get here. I'm so over all this planning!

  • I used to watch it every week, but I haven't been watching it as much lately. FI has watched it with me a couple times and told me, "if you ever acted like that I would leave- what is wrong with these people?"
  • OMG my FAVORITE show! lol :)  They are always set to record on our dvr lol

  • I've never actually seen it but I have heard about it. People like that just make me crazy so I tend to stay away hahaha.

Because ours is semi destination we are flying back a week before the wedding and will be spending that time at our cottage which is just outside of the town where we are getting married. I think that time will fly by because we will have so much to do but it will also be awesome because we have alot of the people who are flying in from the states, europe and south africa who will be coming for that week also so it will be nice to spend time with them.
