RSVP Timeline

Emily Post doesn't say a thing about how long you should give guests to RSVP.  Because I am having a holiday time wedding, I am sending out invitations Oct 31, for delivery starting November 2 (9 weeks before wedding date) and want to have the favour of reply for Dec 5.  Do you think my timing is all off?  (Wedding is January 2).  I need 2 weeks for cater counts, etc, but realistically one of those weeks is Christmas, so I was thinking I would need extra time to call those stragglers!  TIA!

That sounds good to me, but to make it easy to remember, I made my RSVP date a "round" number, like February 1st. But my date was about one month before my wedding and it worked out perfectly. HTH
