Accountability - Wednesday

Alright, I don't know about you ladies, but I need to kick it up a notch! I feel like I'm making no progress this last while, like I'm getting nowhere BUT.... in doing my fitting I realized my sister had to take my dress in quite a bit so OBVIOUSLY I am doing SOMETHING right lol! Its my stomach that's driving me nuts, I wanna loose that pudge SO badly lol

What about you ladies? What do you want to focus on?
Anyone have exercise suggestions for the pudge? lol

Re: Accountability - Wednesday

  • I'm obsessed with my arms getting toned so you aren't alone in your focus!  Hence my 100 pushup challenge haha.  I skipped yesterday because by the time FI got in from his 3.5 hr drive and we ate dinner it was late.  Going to do my pushup and squat challenges tonight.

I actually for the first time ever can say I've gotten rid of my pudge!  FI just complimented me on it last night actually.  I recommend intense cardio (like spinning class), something like pilates that works the whole body but is focused on your breathing and core in every exercise, and JM dvd!  When my pilates/spinning classes ran out I started doing the JM dvd.  I was already in good shape but it seemed to get me over the plateau I had hit since I had been doing spin and pilates for a while and it got my stomach to where I wanted it.  Really, I think mixing up your workouts every few months in general is a biggie!  Your muscles really can adjust and even adding extra weight is sometimes not enough.  Also, things I find help can be drinking enough water and cutting back on salts and/or gluten...those are more quick fixes though if you need to look leaner for something this weekend and not long term toning.
  • Hey, congrats on having your dress taken in! What do you use for calorie tracking? I'm using LoseIt! and it really has helped me take control of my eating habits, I used to just snack because of boredom and it made me realize how many calories I was actually consuming.

I'm down 7 pounds since Jan. 27th! Slow & steady wins the race =D but man, I want to tone my abs & arms more than anything. A this point for me, weight loss isn't a huge concern, but toning is.

I'm interested to see how my dress will fit once I put it on again in a couple months for fittings. It fit perfectly when I bought it.

  • I can't remember the name of the app, its something FI found for blackberrry. I learned I am actually below on my calorie intake so I have to make myself eat a bit more to avoid having problems with not enough lol

Which JM DVD? I have 30 Day Shred, but seen a few others of hers around...
  • I have the Ripped in 30.  Oh and can I tell you something silly I also do?  I have a big full length mirror in the room where I do the dvd.  I do the dvd in just a sports bra (to keep the ladies from bouncing too much)...nothing else.  As crazy/vain as it seems, when I can see the muscles as I work I feel good about what I'm doing which is motivating and when I can see jiggle where I don't want it, it makes me push myself to work harder, so equally motivating.

Maybe some day I'll open a naked gym haha
  • The JM dvds have really given me that extra "oomph" lol
I didn't have a pudge but now I have those lines on my hips ilke JM does - it's awesome! I do her Ripped in 30 dvd 3 times a week and her yoga dvd twice; and spin class twice a week. I also love how ripped my arms and shoulders look now. I used to do weights and never achieved the lines I have now with using minimal weights (body weight instead). I recommmend it to everyone.

On a side note, I noticed an old friend of mine on FB is competing in a body building challenge and has build crazy muscle. As much as I appreciate the dedication and effort, I just don't find it attractive. I love definition and looking healthy and strong, but I dunno if I'd want to look like She-ra. She should be very proud of herself for all her hard work and I wish her all the best; it's just not my thing. It's also super hard on your body... FI did a body building competition years ago and his body is seriously damaged. He has to be so careful now, and is constantly at the chiro.
Not sure where I was going with this... just thought I'd share lol

  • Last night I didn't do the hilly 7 miler but I did a 7 miler at least!  Hopefully before race day I can get in the hill workout.

Mainly I'm trying to focus on my abs.  I have some ab-like things (lol) but I'm really trying to get more definition.  I realize to do that it is going to take ramping up my ab routine and eating CLEAN and lean foods.
  • If you really want to see major results in your tummy area, clean eating is just as important as the exercises. When I stick to my low sugar intake (and gluten free), my abs look the best (but I settle for "ok" because I love my dessert way too much lol).

  • Today I put on my only pair of jeans that has fit me for the past year or so.  Literally.  I bought these jeans last April because I went up a size.  Stubbornly (stubborn is my middle name), I only bought one pair because I didn't want to submit to the fact that I went up a size and was determined to lose it.  Of course I didn't get serious about that until recently.

Today I went to the bathroom (TMI??) and just pulled them down.  I didn't realize I didn't unbutton or unzip them until I went to pull them back up.  Didn't need to unbutton/unzip them to get them back up, either.  Guess I need to start trying on my old jeans...

ANYWAY.  Already did my Jillian for the day.  As of tomorrow, I'll be finished with week 2 :)  Zumba tonight.  Already having a lovely day.

Next week I'm stepping it up a notch.  I have a goal to have a 6-pack (or at least a 4-pack) by the 4th of July.  I hold my fat mostly in my butt/thighs, so my stomach is the first thing gone when I lose weight-- in other words, my goal is not unrealistic.  So I'll be doing Ab Ripper X 3 times a week on top of my existing Body Revolution/Zumba/Yoga routine that I currently do.
  • PS- Love seeing that so many of you are doing JM, too.  I'm doing her new 90-day program, Body Revolution.  I did the first 10 days of 30DS with great results, and decided to spend the money on BR.  SO happy I did!  Love her, and love this program!!
  • One thing I am pretty good at is eating healthy, FI and I are big into the healthier foods, hardly ever eat junk... so I am assuming that's why the dress had to be taken in when I haven't stepped up my workout at all lol

<div>I hear ya!  I notice results when I do that too.  It's hard because as much as I can stick with it I always slip up for the goodies, etc.</div>
  • Has anyone used the JM DVD "No More Trouble Zones"?  It sounds like a good workout, but I'm wondering if there's a better JM DVD people recommend?

  • I had a pretty good work out last night, but going to the gym with FI, although great, gives me an excuse to leave earlier than I should.  I still wanted to keep going last night when he was done.  I've got to find something else for him to do while I'm still working out.  I also took the dog on a long walk.

Today I'll be busy studying for my calc midterm tomorrow, but I'm hoping to get some gym time in.

I have the same problem with tummy pudge.  No matter what I do, I always have it.  I hate it.  Mine is very genetic, though.  My mom used to be 115 lbs, stick thin, and she still had a little bit of tummy pudge.

  • Last night I did weight lifting and a fast 1 mile run. Today I worked both jobs, so no time for a "real" workout, but I did get 5 minutes of ab work in.

I am also desperate to lose the tummy. I'm completely happy with my butt and thighs, mostly happy with my arms and chest, it's just my TUMMY I can't get rid of! I'm OK at clean eating, but I looove sweets...have one almost every day.
