Ok, I know that you aren't suppose to use wedding gifts you received before the wedding until you are married. Does the same rule apply to shower gifts? I assume it does, but figured it was worth asking.
Reason I ask is because we moved into our new house last fall. We registered for quite a few items that I really wanted to have for the summer (such as outdoor table settings etc). My shower will be early June, but my wedding isn't until September. We weren't thinking of the rule that you can't use these items until after the wedding until recently. Given that, I am just confirming that the rule exists for shower gifts as well; if it does I think I will remove some of those items from the registry so we can purchase them ourselves and use them this summer!
