Accountability - Tuesday

I am so proud of FI, he got up and went to the gym with me this morning. He has been really having a hard time getting himself going but says he wants to get in shape. I pointed out to him as we were leaving how much easier it was for me to get going knowing he's going and he promised we'll make this the routine from now until the wedding atleast!

How was last night/this morning for everyone?

Re: Accountability - Tuesday

  • Aww that is so nice!  I am way more motivated to workout when FI does with me.  Last night I did make it on my power walk which felt really great to just clear my head on top of getting a little sweat going.  I was so drained after the final I had to squeeze in last night and so annoyed at the professor that instead of feeling relieved it was over I still felt heated.  So the walk calmed me down.  I have a test in my other class (which goes until August) on Thursday but with just one class to worry about it feels like I have some time on my hands finally!

I'm going to try to do a JM work out tonight.  I think one of the weeks doesn't have you bounce around too much which is what I need since that sprain is still bothering me a little.  But at minimum I'll do some weights during the Heat game!
  • Glad to hear you both are doing well with workouts!

I'm so frustrated with myself. Last week I discovered that setting the alarm a little early and getting a quick jog in before work was a better way to make sure I get a workout in. Wanted to workout this morning because I'm busy this evening and tomorrow evening, but set the alarm for PM instead of AM and totally woke up late. :( Ugh. At least I got to work on time!
  • I'm super sore this morning from my workout last night. I really want to brag on myself. I have lost 6 pounds since last Tuesday! I think most of it is water weight from stress, but I don't care. It is 6 pounds. Plus, if its from stress that just means I'm calming down or whatever. :P

That is great!  As long as you are doing it in a healthy way, sometimes weight comes off quickly!  And it is good you acknowledge it is likely water weight because I feel like sometimes get really quick results up front and then think that that can happen every week.  Either way though, if that gets you excited and motivates you, use it to keep up the good work!  And I hope you are less stressed.  How is it with FI being gone?  When FI and I did long distance I missed him terribly but found myself with way more time on my hands and definitely made it easier to fit in a workout so I hope you find this "perk" too!
  • Congrats on the weight loss!
Apparently I am now not going to the meeting I was going to go to tonight, only FI is going (long story, but for the best) so I am going to tackle invitations and get another workout in tonight. I think I might pull out one of the P90X DVDs tonight :)

I am doing it the healthy way. I think it is a combination of not eating such fatty foods. FI usually cooks and now that he is gone my meals have been smaller and much simplier. I also have been able to work out & do more b/c he isn't here.

It really sucks not having him around. I like the freedom to work out and stuff, but I really feel him not being here. It's also interesting b/c I'm realizing all the things he does around the house even more now. Like watering the dogs. I know that sounds awful, but this morning I watered them. They have a refilling bowl, and oh my gosh that thing is HEAVY! It never occured to me what a chore it was watering them!

Aww yea they are so handy to have around!  The extra time is never a substitute for having him there.  I know I have trouble sleeping when he's not around.  I was the same way about my eating too.  It was soo rewarding though when I saw him and he couldn't stop telling me how great I looked because I used all that time to eat well and workout.  You'll get through it though...be strong!  Just think how exciting it is the next time you live together you'll be married!!!!

I am really hoping for that!

I actually sleep a lot better when he isn't around! I need total silence and darkness. He needs the TV on for the sounds and he says the light is comforting. I don't buy it. So, when he is here I have to wait for him to fall asleep and turn the TV off so I can go to sleep. I bet sleeping better is contributing to the weightloss too.
  • Nothing for me.  I've been busy writing up a lab report and working, so not a lot of extra time.  Then FI is starting a new job next week, so all his coworkers bought him a huge cake yesterday as a goodbye.  So we have a ginormous cake in our kitchen.  We decided that we're gonna have one more piece today and throw the rest away.
