    I don't see a post.

ETA:: Once I posted that, it showed up.
I am a fan of the mismatched dresses.  If you click my pinterest link, I have a few pics on there  (wedding day attire).  I honestly feel it gives the pictures more life, and more personality.  I think you should go with what you want, and just don't talk to her about it.  If she asks, say they are pink and leave it at that.  When she sees the look, she may change her mind.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Are the dresses going to be the same type or all different? Are they going to be different lengths or the same? I think if you have 1 cohesive aspect, they will look fine as long as the colors are in the same family. Bring a few pantone swatches that you like together so you have a good idea going in to the shop. I say so with your gut and FMIL can take a hike ;)
  • I think it looks so fun! I love the idea of mix/match and if I had more than 1 attendant, i'd be doing it! I would keep them all the same length tho (or close enough); like all short or all tea length or all long.

  • I think it looks fun :) I am doing the same colour/length but my brides are doing different styles with it... one is a one shoulder, one is strapless, etc... I think it helps also to showcase their personalities and individuality when they can personalize it a little :)
  • I think it's a neat idea if it's done well, but I've seen pictures where 5 of the 6 girls are wearing complementary shades, but the 6th girl missed the mark, and then I feel like she just stands out too much. I would be wary of that.

  • I really wanted to do this, actually. I had different shades of brown all set that I wanted my girls to wear. It was going to look so beautiful! I wanted them to wear different styles too. Like this: http://www.theloveliestday.com/2011/12/mink-mercury.html

Unfortunately, it was more difficult trying to find dresses in the colors that I wanted that they liked too. So we just went with the same color and different styles. I am really disappointed about it but it's not the end of the world. I am just happy it finally worked out!
  • I like the idea and it seems to be becoming a new trend because I have noticed it popping up on different blogs. I would stick within the same designer and length and then go from there. I have seen girls who did different styles with different colors and it works and also same styles/different colors and it works. So, if thats what you want to do, go for it!

  • I love the idea but I think it needs to be cohesive in some way. Probably the same material and length. Love the inspiration picture!
