September 2012 Weddings

Someone light a fire under my arse?

I appear to have stalled out on the wedding thing. This week at work was a real killer. Sometimes I wish I could just count on work being a certain degree of crazy, so at least I could budget the right amount of energy. This one took the crazy to the limit and just sucked me dry. So I have just drifted off into space w/ the planning stuff. I'm too exhausted to figure out if I'm falling behind. Plus the fi's out of town this week & next for work. I know there's stuff I should be taking care of, but really, I am just loving the couch way too much (did get a run in today a least). Okay, pity party over, mostly. I'm going to Macy's to buy some expensive face care products now. Tongue Out

Re: Someone light a fire under my arse?

  • Girl, it sure won't kil ya to take some time off of planning! Haha. It's ok to put it aside for a bit for the sake of a crazy work week. Trust me, this has been the past few months for me so I know how you feel. Take a breather, chill out for the week and see how you feel next week.
  • I keep saying that!  I got all of the big checks pretty much out of the way early on so I really don't have anything left to do until my invitation pdf is sent to me and I get RSVPs back, in like, September :)  I'm sure there's little things I will think of but I feel zero motivation to work on them!
  • I had the same thing happen for the last month or so, just ended up taking time off while I dealt with an increase in my workload, some personal stuff, etc. There is nothing wrong with taking a bit of time off to get everything else in line first :) You do still have time, its not like we're down to the last couple months ;)
  • I took about 4 months off between when I finished my save the dates and when I started focusing on details (most of the vendors were booked before).  Just make lists, and know when things absolutely have to be done by, but there's no major rush on most things once you get the big things in place.

  • Whew, good points, y'all. Not too much is falling in the OMG-GET-IT-DONE-NOW file right this minute. Gotta remind myself that not getting things "checked off" is not the same as going backwards.
