So FI and I live in the same city as his mother, but are marrying in my hometown where my parents live 2.5 hours away. FI's family (who are hosting the rehearsal dinner) asked that me and my family do all the research for the (very large) rehearsal dinner since we know the area/reuptations of resturants/locations. I showed FI three options while we were visiting my parents.
One ended up not being large enough, one was lovely, and one was our absolutely most favorite. His mother refused to book it because she "doesn't trust SCogs's opinion" and won't book anything "until FMIL eats at every single possablity in the city" Frustration, yes. But, she never did it. 6 weeks later she finially decided it would be acceptable to book at our favorite place (she never did bother to eat there) and....big shocker...someone else snapped it up.
Now instead of going for our second choice she wants to start the whole process over and wants new options. She keeps calling FI with "options" she found on Google and they are always totally unrealistic (typically they are 45 minutes away from the ceremony space or have terrible reputations locally).
Her latest solution is that we change our wedding date so we can book the rehearsal dinner space we origionally wanted! Change our date? REALLY??
