LF something borrowed

What is your "something borrowed"??
I'm stumped. I have something "blue", something "new" and FI is old, so I'm almost covered lol
I need some ideas...I don't have anyone to borrow jewelry from and I'm too picky to do that haha, so what else can I borrow??

  • I'm no help. I'm having the same problem. I have new and blue, but I need something old and borrowed and I'm too picky to just use anything... =P

Did you say FI is old? LOL...that cracked me up!  I'm borrowing my FMIL's grandmother's diamond and platinum ring to wear on my right hand as my old.  My cousin's wife is letting me borrow her diamond earrings and my new is the dress..I'm just unsure of my blue!  Maybe you could borrow something for your hair?  I read that one bride borrowed $5 from her BM as her something borrowed..ha!
  • i was totally stumped on this as well, until Dan's mother offered me her pearl earrings. They're not quite what I was picturing, but I like them enough and I didn't have anything specific in mind anyway.

Before that, I was considering borrowing my MOH's hair flower that she had made and worn for her own wedding. perhaps you can borrow a veil or hairpiece or something like that?
    Happily married since 9/1/2012!

  • I was going to borrow my cousin's (MOH) veil but she lost it :( She thinks it got lost at the venue 10/10. I felt sad that she lost it (not for me, but because it's sad that she doesn't have her veil anymore... if that makes sense).

That is hilarious!! I might have to use that if I don't find something else!

I guess if I use hair extensions, they will be borrowed :P

And yes, I always bug FI about being 'old" - he'll be 34 on Saturday actually (I'm not that far behind him mind you...)

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • I'm borrowing my mother's pearl earrings & necklace. I still need my something old and something blue :-/

<div>Hahaha! This made me bust! I'll have to make my extensions my new thing then since I already purchased them!! lol</div><div>

  • I have a woman that I have looked up to as my mentor in business for a couple years now, and she is lending me her veil to wear!
  • I haven't even thought about this stuff.  My MOH had their names and wedding date embroidered at the bottom of her dress in blue.  I really like that, but her dress had pickups, so it fit right in.  The dress style I want doesn't work like that.

    Old: ?
    New: Hairpiece?
Borrowed: ?  Things for our dessert table (does this count? or does it have to be "on" me?)

  • If my mother can find her veil I would like to borrow that, otherwise I'm stumped as well! Maybe I'll have to look through my Mom's jewelry if she can't find the veil.

I could get the beautiful bridal clutch as my "new" item, embroider our wedding date in blue on the inside and borrow $5 from my sister to put inside it. Unfortunately FI wouldn't fit inside the clutch, but I could put a pic of him inside instead LOL

I don't know what I'm gonna use as my 'borrowed' either. :/
I have my old-my mom's e-ring, new-my dress, blue- I'm gonna get a new tattoo in blue before the wedding and paint my toenails blue {closed toe shoes :)} but I'm still really clueless about what to borrow. My MOH offered her veil but it's stark white and my dress is a really creamy ivory, so I think it would be too 'off.'

I like the $5 idea! That's a funny story to tell some day! :)
  • Hmm... Let's see. Here's what I have:

old: My e-ring is my grandma's diamond
borrowed: was going to be my MOH's veil, but my aunt wants to make my veil for me so now I'm not sure
    blue: my shoes!
    new: my dress :)

I guess we're both stuck on the borrowed... Hopefully something will come to us soon :)

  • I borrowed a slip from our best man's wife.  I kinda have a second borrowed thing too....when my gma passed she left her rosary to my mom.  It was from her first communion, happens to be blue, and techically is my moms so it is old, borrowed, and blue.  I'm going to wrap it around my bouquet so my grandma is with me on my walk down the aisle.  Does someone maybe have a hankerchief?  A hair clip?  If you haven't already purchased it, a veil?  Also, don't know if he has anything like this but knowing how you are so family oriented, does your son have a good luck charm or something you can borrow?  I think you'd both love that.
