Reception card wording

Hi all

How would you word a reception card, if the reception is at the same location as the ceremony? The ceremony is at 3pm & the cocktail hour starts at 6pm, with dinner at 730. The reception is at a large venue with multiple ballrooms. The cocktail hour & dining room are separate (but right next door to eachother).

Thanks!

Re: Reception card wording

  • I would just list the ceremony location and then say, "Reception immediately following."  That's usually my clue that they are at the same location.

Yea, I can't put immediately following beause its not. The ceremony should be about an hour...its a full catholic mass. So, there is about a 2 hour gap in between the end of the ceremony & the cocktail hour. I don't know what guests will do...I assume most will check into the hotel, relax, go have a drink somewhere, etc.

  • It is a resort and golf center. There is a catholic chapel on site because it used to be a seminary. I'm not changing my ceremony/reception time, nor can I. There are often gaps between ceremonies and reception start times. I cannot think of a single wedding where one was right after the other. Its really not that big of deal. I wanted advice on how to word a reception card, not on how to change my wedding around.
