Wedding Invitations & Paper

2-sided invitations, thrifty-chic or totally tacky?

We are doing formal wedding invitations and when i was working on them i noticed that we can put whatever we want on the back side.  I was thinking about putting the reception info there to save paper and make it easy for the guests (one thing to bring with both the church and reception info).  Is this a no-no?  I've never seen it done before.

I dont think it's tacky, but it's definitely more casual. I also think if you go this route you'd better have something like

on the bottom front. I might genuinely never think to turn it over.

  • I say no-no b/c I am a stickler for etiquette and especially if you are having a formal wedding.  Reception cards are pretty inexpensive and you can easily purchase them at Michael's or purchase a good card stock from OfficeMax and cut them down to size with a paper cutter.

  • It depends on the style of the invitation. I saw some like this on Etsy and thought about using them, actually. If they are more formal/traditional, I would say no.

Not tacky, but not chic either, especially for a formal wedding.  To do a double-sided invite seems like a cost-saving measure to me, which is fine, but usually formal weddings aren't exactly budget affairs.  I agree with PP who say this would definitely send a more casual vibe.
