Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wax Seals

We took the extra time & did wax seals for our invitations.  Ours were w/ our initial & I am SO thankful that we did it!  It pretty much took a whole evening due to the amount of invitations & "practicing," but completely worth it - just FYI.

Re: Wax Seals

  • The post office usually has no issue with them on inner envelopes, although they do sometimes charge extra if the envelope is too thick for the machinery and has to be processed by hand.  If they're on outter envelopes, they may reject them and/or damage your envelopes, unfortunately.

  • We used them on the outer envelopes & checked with the post office before we mailed them.  We had a sample weighed before the stamp & then we also had them weighed again before sending them out and it didn't change the cost.  We mailed them 1 week ago & have already gotten 61 RSVPs back & several compliments on the seals.  I'm not saying it works out 100% of the time, but the wax we used was very nice quality.  We tried peeling & scraping the stamp off of one of the envelopes as a test & barely made a dent after 2-3 attempts.

  • You are lucky, because we did this and the sorting machine destroyed several of them! (Maybe more were destroyed, of course we did not get feedback from everyone).
