the Knot online RSVP nightmares

Just curious, I heard some people were stuggling with the RSVP function on the knots websites can anyone tell me what kinds of things have happened. I have heard that people have heard horror stories about them not function right, but I am a little too deep in the process to turn back now.

Thanks

Re: the Knot online RSVP nightmares

  • in the beginnign when i tried to import my guest list from outlook i had problems. i think it's because i was using a mac and the old version of guest list manager would not import from microsoft word for mac. (not sure if the new version does either.) sometimes the reports you try to run don't run and you get an error message for days. also, sometimes when i enter data i watch to make sure it's saved, but then it's gone a few hours later. so you have to be careful and spot when something is wrong. but TK's guest list tool is still way better than the other ones i looked at.
  • Mine worked fine when I first imported my guest list about 4 months ago.  Now, when I'm ready for people to finally use it, anyone's name that's entered comes up as not being part of the guest list.  It's so frustrating because I know for a fact that people are being entered correctly AND are in the guest list system.  I agree--had I known theknot would be this user un-friendly, I would have chosen a different site.  Bummer!

Thank you so much for that and for the step by step instructions.
This was no more difficult to set up than creating and importing a spreadsheet, and much less problematic for guest to enter the info exactly as the knot's narrow fields require. Thanks again!

[QUOTE]Thanks for the insight. What did you do with the people you invited as an 'and guest' i.e. Jane Doe and Guest...are you able to choose an option so that guest is able to leave their name?

    Hi,
    I have the same question,
<em>What did you do with the people you invited as an 'and guest' i.e. Jane Doe and Guest...are you able to choose an option so that guest is able to leave their name?</em>

<strong>did you manage the find the answers?</strong>
  • Where is the option to import your guest list?
  • Ahhh, nevermind.  Got it!

  • I didn't use it, but I had problems as a guest. It wouldn't let me RSVP under my name or my now husband's name. I tried our names written as nicknames, full names, and even incorrect spellings. I ended up just mailing the response card in.
