Wedding Invitations & Paper

VistaPrint

I see that a lot of you have used (or considered using) Vista Print. Any reviews? Pictures of product? I am interested, but leery of quality!

Pros/Cons please!

TIA!

Re: VistaPrint

  • I've only heard great things on here.  I didn't use them for invites (though they were used for my shower invites), but I did buy 2 groupons, and with that, bought all of my wedding & shower thank yous, envelope seals, wedding directional signs, escort cards (business cards), and a stamp.  I've been happy with them.

  • Are they jsut on very plain cardstock- or is there an option for a "shimer" (for lack of a better term) page?

I looked, but couldn't find many options.

I just did cardstock, but there is a premium gloss option, at least for cards.  It costs another $2.  You don't see it until you are placing the order though.

  • I don't think VP has a shimmer option, but they do have a premium gloss finish.  Sign up for their emails, they have deals all the time.  You can also order their free bridal package.  They will give you a sample of every paper type.  Their basic paper isn't that thick.  I had my invites put into a pocketfold, so I didn't need a heavy cardstock for my invites.  Also, the envelopes are thin and see through.  You will want to upgrade them as well or buy some separately.

I also bought my TY cards from them and did upgrade the paper and used a gloss finish.  They came out great.  I have received nothing but compliments on my invites and TY card quality.

Also, as PP said, use the groupon or livingsocial vouchers they offer and you can pay very little for your invites.

For DD's wedding we made their own design on this gorgeous shimmer-y paper at Zazzle.com for the invitations.

BUT, for menus, programs and tags for the favors we used VP. I've also used them many times in the past for things with great luck. I usually upgrade to the heavier or glossy cardstock, just depending on what the item is.

If you watch for sales or get a groupon, you can get a LOT of items for LITTLE money.

Photos below of favor tag (there was printing on the back, too) and the menus from Vistaprint. (I matted the menus on plain green cardstock just to give them more punch.)

    And here's the program.
Also, I agree with CMGr about the envelopes. I have no clue WHY they sent us envelopes with menus and programs, but they did and they are flimsy/cheap. I noticed this with some invitations we got from VP for a birthday earlier this summer. I have never gotten their printed envelopes, only the free ones that are included. Perhaps the custom/printed ones are nicer?

They have an AWESOME online chat help center, too. They might be able to tell you more about the envelopes.

As to the bolded, yes, the printed envelopes are much nicer.  We upgraded the envelopes for out TY cards!

Wally - I hope DD's wedding went wonderfully!  I hope you post pics soon!
  • I will Olive! It was SO MUCH FUN!

  • They do have a shimmer option, but it may not be on all the selections. My cousin did that and it looked nice.
