Wedding Invitations & Paper

...along with their spouses...wording help

So, I got the proof of my invite and I'm just not happy with it. My parents are divorced and both remarried, dad for 19 years, mom for 4. FI and I are paying for the majority of the wedding, but we're going to have the invited worded as if my parents are hosting out of respect and because they are contributing about 30% combined. the invite is currently worded:

Jane and John Smith (Mom and Husband)
Jill and Jack Doe, III   (Step-mom and Dad)

request the honour of your presence...

I don't like that it is missing the formality of "Mr. and Mrs." The main problem I'm having is that most people won't know who "Mr and Mrs. John Smith" are because my mother's marriage is relatively new.

Would it be in completely poor taste to have the wording like this:

Ms. Jane Jones Smith (Mom Maiden Name Husband's Name)
Mr. Jack Doe, III (Dad)
along with their spouses...

This wording still doens't seem right to me. I'm feeling a little lost and I'm starting to stress! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
